As Akechi was of course busy juggling his detective work as well as his school life, he didn't have much free time. That's why you were so ecstatic that he proposed the idea of going somewhere, just the two of you. He had mentioned it subtly, only bringing up that he had some time off.

It surprised you that the charmsitic detective was being so coy at the subject of a date, but you didn't dwell on it for long. It was honestly nice to see him look as bashful as he made you feel at times!

Excited that you and him were going to finally spend some quality time together, you sorted out your outfit and hung the clothes up by your door, as well as setting an alarm. At this point, it felt as if things could only go well!

                                                                           ****

The sound of your favourite song emitted from your phone, bringing you out of your slumber. You immediately felt the sun's rays from the opening of the curtains on your face. With the thoughts of yesterday still in mind as well as having a skip in your step, you got dressed. During these events you couldn't stop yourself humming, you were just in too much of a good mood.

That happy feeling continued as you moved to your vanity, organising your hair accessories and brush. However when raising your hair to get started, you came across something unfortunately familiar.

Scattered across your forehead like confetti were small spots, easily noticeable by the redness. You paused, leaning up to touch them before wincing. Not only did they look sore, they were sore!

"Uh, okay." You began the search for foundation. "I can just cover it up, no big deal..."

That was the plan, but even with you putting up with the pain from putting the make up on, it was apparent it didn't work well. The spots were till very much visible.

You glared at the mirror. Why was that today you were having a skin breakout?!

"I'm sure Goro wouldn't mind it or anything, but..." A sad sigh escaped your lips involuntarily.

You made eye contact with your reflection, and feeling stubborn, you emptied your makeup bag. There had to be something that'd to a better job, anything!

Gloved hands knocked the door, and the owner waited patiently outside it. As much as he tried to deny it, he was somewhat nervous for today. After all, those insecure thoughts that had been plagued hadn't yet left him, and despite wanting to spend time with you, he was also worried if you perhaps felt differently as the date would continue.

Akechi shook his head, combing back his hair a bit. There was no use thinking about it... It'd be fine. That's what he hoped, anyway.

However he soon realised that despite knocking there was yet to be an answer. He checked the time on his phone. He wasn't late or too early, could it be that you weren't home?

He gave another tentative knock to the door, just in case. After a couple of moments it opened, and instantly relief coursed through him.

"Ah, hello!" He said with a smile. It wasn't often that he managed to form one so naturally. "I was worried for a moment, I-"

It was then that he noticed that it wasn't his girlfriend's face that was greeted him, but rather a pair of hands.

He could stare for a while, confused. "Um... Is something the matter?"

You shook your head, your answer somewhat muffled. "N-No, nothing..."

Akechi put a thoughtful hand to his chin. "That's... A little hard to believe." He told you with a light laugh. "Whatever it is, you can tell me."

You mumbled something, but it was unintelligible due to both the volume of your voice as well as the hands covering your face. After some time, you slowly lowered them.

"I was trying to... Fix it." You explained, opening the door fully.

Akechi glanced over you, eyebrows raising so that they disappeared under his thick fringe. "Hm? What could you be talking about?"

You glanced around before sighing once more, then put a hand to your head. "These."

You were so caught up in what his reaction would be, it caught you by surprise when Akechi leaned forward. From the close proximity you could see his dark red eyes.

"Ah-!" A small noise left you at the closeness, and you were sure he could see not just your spots, but the pink flush your face held as well.

He stood straight once more, smiling reassuringly at you. "You're concerned about your skin?"

"Well, yeah..." You admitted. "It's silly, I know, but it's just... Everyone really looks up to you, so I thought if people saw me walking around with you, maybe it'd look bad on your part."

There was a silence as Akechi registered your words. In that dead air you found yourself feeling awkward, and you quickly waved your hands as a way to dismiss it.

"That sounds stupid, doesn't it? Ahah..." You laugh ended up much more hollow than intended. "Sorry."

When Akechi finally responded, shock was evident in his tone. "You were that worried, for me...?"

"Yeah..." You met his gaze once again, but you weren't prepared to see the slight faraway look in his eyes as he stared back at you. "G-Goro?"

Akechi seemingly snapped out of it, blinking. "Ah, sorry. I just..."

His sentence went unfinished as he shook his head. "It's nothing."

"Oh..." You weren't quite sure about that, but didn't pester him. "Anyway, I'm sorry. I know I'm being a bit... Childish."

A smile returned to Akechi's face, but there something about it you couldn't pinpoint. However, it wasn't that it came off insincere.

"Not at all. In fact, I think it's very kind of you to think of me." He said. "I guess I should have expected that from you though."

Akechi's gloved hand came to rest on your cheek, and you blushed. "Why wouldn't I...?"

His eyes widened considerably, but you didn't notice as he soon recovered. Letting his hand drop from its gentle position on your cheek, he instead used it to cough into his fist awkwardly.

"Well, what say we go on your way? Unless you'd prefer to spend the day inside?" He asked. "I'm fine with anything, if you're there."

Feeling much more confident you stepped out, by your boyfriend's side. "Let's go. I've... Been really looking forward to this."

Seeing your shy but happy smile, Akechi couldn't stop himself from mirroring it. You always made it so easy for him to smile so naturally without forcing it.

"So have I." He replied, warmth in his tone. His hand outstretched, it didn't take long for you to take it in yours.
