Absentmindedly watching the people pass by in the train station, you fiddled with the buttons of your coat as you waited. Your boyfriend was very busy most of the time, but he managed to make some free time in his schedule so the two of you could hang out.
As you thought about it, a small smile unconsciously made its way on your lips. This would be something like a date, wouldn't it? It was nice to think about.
You continued to think about it, putting yourself in a daydream as people walked past you. Since it wasn't often you got to spend a long time with Akechi, you were really looking forward to it.
It was only when you saw a blur of brown in front of you that you began to pay attention, immediately recognising the familiar peacoat.
Akechi smiled down at you. "Hello, I'm sorry if I kept you waiting."
"Oh no, you're fine!" You dismissed, returning the smile. "How was work?"
"Not much to say I'm afraid." He responded. "But I'm glad to have some free time."
You nodded. "Me too. I missed you." You added quietly.
Akechi said nothing for a moment, eyes significantly wide before he quickly blinked and resumed his pleasant smile. "Well, shall we go? I know a couple places we can visit."
"Sure!" You agreed, and just in time a train came into the station. To your surprise, Akechi faced the doors as the vehicle came to a halt.
He offered his hand to you as other people came to gather by the doors. You took it and the two of you boarded the train.
Luckily you managed to find a spot, and after seating yourselves you turned to Akechi with a curious look.
"You look like you have a plan." You observed.
His face softened as he chuckled. "You could say that. I've been doing some research since I don't usually do this sort of thing..."
Understanding the implication of his words, you put a comforting hand on his arm. "I'm looking forward to it then."
The train began to move, and the warmth by your side accompanied by the humming of the vehicle almost made you drowsy, but your excitement of what Akechi had planned has you awake and peeking out the window whenever you could. He noticed this and laughed a bit behind his gloved hand. You blushed in embarrassment but in the end you couldn't help but giggle along as well.
Eventually the train came to a stop, and Akechi stood up, once again holding out a hand.
You took it. "Are we at the mysterious destination?"
"Indeed we are." He replied, voice light and airy.
After exiting the station instantly the bright colours were brought to your attention, and you looked around in awe.
Akechi watched you, a small smile on his face although his eyes showed uncertainty. "I figured this would be an interesting place to visit. I hope it's alright."
You turned back to him. "Of course it is! I've never been to Chinatown before."
His shoulders relaxed in his relief, but it was mostly unnoticeable. "Ah, I'm glad. I've heard good things about the food here."
"Then let's get some!" You suggested, looking around. "Oh, what's that over there?"
In you excitement you had ended up pulling on Akechi with one hand, pointing to a food stall amidst the colourful rows of them. Even with the over abundance of them, they couldn't rival the brightness in your smile.
