No matter how much she thought over it, Naoto found herself unable to link the evidence given to her so far. The longer she tried to piece everything together it only left her more frustrated than before.

She couldn't understand why it was so difficult to solve a simple theft case. She's figured out many other mysteries, so why was this any different?

Naoto sighed, tugging down her cap. Maybe she should just go over it from the beggining... She wasn't going to give up. If she did, she'd be bringing shame to her family name.

Due to being so deep in her vexing thoughts, she at first didn't hear the sound of something from afar. It soon increased in volume, promoting here to look up.

"Naaaaaaooooottooooo!"

"Huh?"

You threw your arms over your girlfriend, grinning. "What are you up to?"

Naoto's face went warm at the warm contact, but she didn't push you away. "O-Oh, I'm..." She cleared her throat. "I've been going through a block, it seems."

You pulled back slightly, tilting your head. "A block? Is there a new case?"

"It's not new, per say..." Naoto told you, her tone holding an underlying despondency. "As much I try, I just can't solve it. It should be easy, and yet..."

Seeing her low spirits brought a frown to your face. You knew how much something like this would affect her, especially since she took her job very seriously.

"What kind of case is it?" You asked curiously. "I-It's not something serious, like murder right?!"

"No, it isn't something so drastic." Naoto replied, smiling slightly. It soon dropped however as she continued. "There's been a series of thefts going on for a couple weeks now. Items such as paintings, medals, even a briefcase have been reported missing."

"Woah, those are... Different than I was expecting." You admitted, slightly impressed. "Paintings, huh? That's like something out of a book!"

"That's right. That's what makes it so strange. The items don't match up, and the pattern is irregular. I suppose it's to sell, but even then wouldn't it be easier to steal money itself?" Naoto began to ponder, looking deep in thought.

You watched her for a moment. Honestly you thought it was cute when she'd go into detective-mode, but from her furrowed eyebrows and tense expression, you could see how stressed she was.

With a smile you grabbed onto her hand, leaving her to look up at you in surprise. "Wh-What? What is it?"

"It wouldn't hurt to take a small break, would it?" You swung you arm slightly, beaming. "Plus it'd refresh your mind a bit!"

Naoto hesitated before she slowly nodded. "I... Suppose that might be helpful..."

"Great, then let's go to Okina!" With a cheerful skip in your step you pulled Naoto along.

After getting to the popular city, you couldn't help but look around in awe. You've been here a couple times, but you were still amazed at how different it was from regular Inaba. While the former had an old street with the same-old items, Okina had the cinema as well as a café, clothing shop and a bookstore.

The first location the two of you visited was Okina books. Despite its name, it didn't have just books but CDs and DVDs as well.

You scanned the shelves, looking for any new related that might interest you. Eventually you came back to see Naoto, a book in her hands.

"Did you find something?"

She looked up at you from the pages, a calm smile on her lips. "You could say that. It's a murder mystery."

"Oh!" You grinned in excitement. "Really? Are you going to get it?"

"No, there was barely a mystery."

You gawked, your enthusiasm wavering. "You... Your read it all? Already?"

"Just a chapter. The twist was far too obvious." She stated, closed the book with a small thud. "No one else could be the culprit but the chef."

You shook your head with a laugh. "Aw, you spoiled it. That's my Nao-chan though! You're so smart."

As you wrapped your arms around her shoulders, she shyly put her hand on yours, smiling slightly. "Hmhm, apologies. Unfortunately I can't seem to solve other things as easily..."

You stayed silent, thinking to yourself. How could you possibly help? You didn't know what to say in reply. Naoto picked up on this, turning her head to you. She didn't realise how close you'd be, and ended up looking away again.

"I'm sorry." She sighed for the umpteenth time. "I know you're trying to help me... I just keep thinking about it."

"About me?"

"Huh?!" Naoto blushed, her gaze falling down to her feet. "No, I... It's not that I don't, but..."

"I'm kidding, hehe." You rested your chin on her shoulder. "You don't need to say sorry. I just don't want you to be stressed."

Naoto scratched her cheek, her voice quieting to a mumble. "... Th-Thank you... I appreciate it."

"You don't have to be so formal!" You pulled away to look at her face clearly. "And anyway, you'll figure everything out soon enough. Nothing can get past my girlfriend!"

She became bashful at your compliments. "I'd hope so."

"Besides, there's one thing those thieves can't take."

Tipping her head to the he side, Naoto sent you a quizzical look. "What could that be?"

You grinned, giving her finger her guns. "My heart, because it's already been stolen!"

Naoto paused, then chuckled to herself. Her face had become a tint pinker. "I see. I'm glad I don't have to worry about that."

Your shoulders felt much lighter, seeing her smile. It was always nice seeing her blush too, however you didn't expect her next words to have your face matching hers.

"I don't have mine to worry about either, since it's in safe hands." She muttered. She peeked up with uncertainty, coughing slightly and turning away when she saw you stare back at her.

"L-Let's go, there are other places to visit." She spoke swiftly, began to stride away as she hid her burning face.

You were still frozen still, her word stuck in your mind. Hearing her footsteps, you snapped out of your daydream, unable to stop yourself from smiling. "Wait for me, Nao-chan!"

As you ran to catch up with her, Naoto found herself in the same predicament. Although she didn't find herself minding too much.
