Whilst your head was down, your thumbs pressed on the buttons of your Vita determinedly, all the while your feet carried you along. You've been addicted to this game since you started playing, so whatever free time you had was put towards it. That included your walks to the train station.
You had been doing well avoiding bumping into anyone, as you had gotten used to sensing when people were nearby. However the current boss fight forced you to fully-focus, and for a moment you were completely immersed in the world of the game.
... Well, for a while your were. That was until you has collided into the body of another person, a tall one at that.
After re-adjusting your grip on your handheld to be sure of its safety, you looked up and noticed the familiar face.
"Oh, Yusuke!" You greeted. "On your way home?"
His expression was calm as always, so much so that onlookers might think he was bored. "I was observing. I tend to make it a habit before I return home."
"I, I see." You laughed awkwardly. He noticed the Vita that held between your palms.
"What's that?" He asked.
You looked down, your face lighting up. "This? It's my Vita!"
"A... Vita?" Although you gave a clear answer, a look of confusion made it's way on his face.
With a nod you moved closer to his side, showing the screen to him. "Yeah, you play games on it!" Seeing him look lost, you smiled half-heartedly. "You've never played a game before...?"
"No, I haven't... I don't understand the point." Yusuke admitted.
You tried to not let the shock show in your tone of voice as you blinked at him. "What do you mean?"
"What is the purpose?" Was his follow up as he raised a hand to his chin. "Why not do something more... Fulfilling?"
"Ow, way to twist the knife." You stated in a kidding manner.
Yusuke simply tilted his head at you. "I'm not holding a knife. Moreover, my weapon is a sword."
You decoded to change the subject before he got to Ryuji-levels of blabbing. "Right... Anyway, playing games is fulfilling!"
His relaxed expression remained, but his eyes showed interest. "How so?"
"Well, there's a lot." You started, opting to hold your vita with one hand as you began to list off your reasons. "There's the pride you feel when you beat a level you've been stuck on forever, or when you get completely invested in a story, and the satisfaction you feel when finishing it."
As you spoke Yusuke listened attentively. He'd never think this be much interest to him, but there was something pleasant in watching someone's eyes light up when talking about something they enjoy. Before he knew it, you had finished talking.
"My point is, games are just another way of having fun or spending your free time. Like you and your art!" You told him.
Yusuke raised a quizzical eyebrow. "To be honest, I fail to see the comparison."
You rolled your eyes jokingly. "I thought you would. A lot of games have really nice art styles though, and the ones with stories really pull you in, like a painting!" You turned to him. "What's your verdict?"
He looked to be in thought, glancing down at the Vita screen. "I suppose you might be right."
"I might be." You repeated with a smile. "Want to give it a go?"

Seated in a more secluded corner of the station, you handed Yusuke your Vita, trusting he'd be careful with it. He was, if the gingerly grip he had on it was anything to go by.
His eyes had narrowed in concentration, but his thumbs didn't move to even press any buttons.
You held back a chuckle at the comically serious expression he was making, patting his should good-heartedly. "Relax! Let's get something you can just jump tight into..."
After skimming your game selection screen, you tapped the icon. "This should do, and rhythm games are pretty fun!"
"There's this genre, as well?" Yusuke mused to himself. "What an interesting device."
You smiled a bit to yourself, sitting back and allowing him to get used to navigating through the menus. You were content chatting with Ryuji and Futaba about gaming, even with Ann if she wasn't busy, but it was always nice to see someone who'd otherwise didn't have an interest give something new a shot. As much as you liked looking at pictures and art pieces, you couldn't quite enter the same world as Yusuke, but you were happy that at least now you could share a bit if yours.
Yusuke on the hand, while intrigued, was very much lost. Once the menu faded to black and soon reappeared with a character onscreen, music beginning to play, his eyebrows shot up even further.
"Wh-What? Where are these symbols coming from?" He questioned, straightening his back in surprise.
Seeing the life meter worsen, you took one side of the Vita, your hand lightly brushing against his before Yusuke's fingers twitched and he loosened his grip, allowing you to play on the left side.
"You just have press the button that corresponds with what direction the symbol goes to." You demonstrated, laughing slightly when he nodded with major focus.
"I see. How intriguing." Yusuke finally said after a while, seemingly getting the hang of it. You helped him finish the song, and once the results screen appeared you grinned a him.
"Nice job!" You complimented. "Tell me that wasn't fun!"
Yusuke fixed a strand of his hair that loosened from its position from behind his ear. "It wasn't fun."
You paused, gawking at him. "Wait, wha-?"
"That was a joke." He smiled a bit. "It was much more entertaining than I first thought. It was enjoyable."
Without thinking you had mirrored it, chuckling once more. "Oh, right. Thanks."
"Hm?" Yusuke looked back at you questionably. "For what?"
You rubbed the back of your head with a now sheepish grin. "For giving it a shot. I know this kind of thing isn't really your interest, so thanks for humouring me."
Yusuke stayed silent for a shirt while. "There's no need for thanks. It'd be quite nice to do this again."
"Really? Y-You're serious, right?" You asked, uncertain.
"Yes, of course." Yusuke confirmed. "As you said, there's more to art than the more traditional kind. The aesthetics were rather pleasing."
You laughed a bit. "Oh... Well, sure! We can hang out later this well if you want. There's a ton more games where that came from."
In your excitement you began to list off your favourites, explaining the gameplay in each of them. Yusuke was listening, but ended up getting lost in gazing at the various expressions that showed on your face. Unknown to him, quite the dazed one was on his own.
"Yusuke?" You peered at him.
"I'm fine." He responded, shaking his head. "Please, continue."
You raised your eyebrow but complied. "Okay then. Where was I?"
As you started to chat away, Yusuke smiled to himself. He came here to garner inspiration, and just like that he had easily found it. Just not in the way he expected it.
