Pink petals fluttered in the air, the cherry blossom trees still in full bloom. It hadn't been long since that day, and it felt as though the atmosphere of mourning in the dorm would never cease.
People would come in and out, and if one was to sit down it wouldn't be long. It was as if the scenery of the interior alone brought pain to much to bear.
Monday arrived, and as usual, everyone left the dorm. Mitsuru and Akihiko had graduated, but still had work to do. Even Koromaru would leave, presumably to go to the shrine. It hurt to see them so miserable.
The heavy door closed again, the sound echoing for a few moments in the empty room. Then the silence returned.
You looked down at your hands. Despite already knowing that you were completely transparent to them, you found yourself glancing down at yourself to confirm it.
"... What is it?"
After looking up, Minato came into view. Although the question was simple, you found it hard to truly answer him.
"Nothing." You responded shortly, creating a lull in the conversation. It was only when you saw his mellow but wondering gaze that you sighed and elaborated.
"It's just lonely, that's all." You admitted, gesturing to the looming walls that seemed to close in. "I used to love this place, and now..."
Minato remained silent, hands in his pockets.
You sighed. "Don't you regret it? When Nyx..."
His calm expression didn't change. "No, I don't. It was for the sake of everyone."
All you could do was nod. Deep down you knew that, but still wanted to hear his answer aloud.
"And you?"
"No!" Was your outburst, however your voice soon devolved into a mumble. "I don't regret protecting them that time either, I just..."
Minato moved closer to you, a hand hovering over your shoulder. "I get it. It's because things are a lot different, isn't it?"
"I want them to be happy." You replied with sincerity, looking at the couch adjacent to you. You used to all sit there, chatting and laughing. Now nobody wanted to spare a moment to talk, too hurt to do so. "It painful to see them like this."
"We've done what we can already." Minato said, his steady voice almost masking his caring tone. "What will help now is time."
A cold dampness covered your eyes, and even you weren't sure if it was a sob or a laugh that left your lips. "I never thought you'd be so wise."
He smiled back at you, eyes softening. At least he could help you.

Even though Minato's advice was very much true and did soothe your worried heart, the dorm itself felt almost frozen in time when it was vacant. Your room was dusty, but it's not like you could do anything there anyway.
You were sitting by the railing of the staircase when you felt a presence. "Minato?"
"So you knew I was here." He observed.
You shrugged, a half-smile on your face. "I've gotten used to your silent ways."
You heard a hum from him, and turning your head you saw him kneeling to sit down next to you. Over the staircase's railing you could see the empty living room.
"I know I said it made me sad to see them so miserable, but it's not any better seeing the dorm so... Desolate."
Minato nodded. "It's a ghost town."
