As you waiting idly but you watched the snowflakes fall daintily from the sky, joining the rest of the porcelain colour covering the grass in Inokashira park.
Yusuke had suggested you meet him there, rather spontaneously at that. It had caught you off guard at the time, but the thought of spending time with him brought you a cosy warmth, despite the frosty weather around you.
The crunching of snow beneath shoes had been brought to your attention, and you smiled, seeing Yusuke's tall figure approaching you.
"Sorry if I kept you waiting. I was momentarily distracted with the view coming here." He explained. Getting closer he paused, gazing at you intently. "I'd say this one is much more captivating though."
At his quiet but still audible comment, you blushed, looking up at him. "Aw... Yusuke- Yusuke?!"
You were hit with the abrupt realisation that he was only in his Kosei Winter uniform, and while it was somewhat appropriate, he was without a coat or even gloves.
With a hurried pace you took off your scarf, lightly tossing it around his neck and tugging on either sides so that it was even. During this he could only stare at you in surprise, but the sudden close proximity wasn't unwanted.
"You can't just walk around like that, it's freezing outside!" You scolded with a frown. At his silent reply, you looked up quizzically, only for you to freeze much like the pond. His pale skin was brightened by a light rose hue that was prominit along his cheeks and the top of his ears.
"Ah, uh..." You fumbled with your words before doing so physically as well, letting go of the scarf and stepping back. "Y-You could get sick like that, that's all."
Although it had been a little while since you both got together, you were still so shy. Yusuke on the other hand was the type to say things as they are on most occasions, however there were times when he was around you that he was stunned into silence as well. To your group of friends and probably strangers as well, you two were an odd couple. Ann had described it 'as if you were both still crushing on each other instead of dating' ... But it's not like you could help it!
Yusuke's cleared his throat. Whether he actually needed to or that it was an attempt to break the awkward air, was unknown. "... My apologies. I've seemed to misplaced my coat, and I didn't have time nor funds to buy another."
"You don't need to say sorry..." You responded, and the silence returned. That was until Yusuke's spoke up once more.
"But I feel much warmer now."
"You do?" You asked hopefully. At his nod, you smiled. "That's good. The scarf is really soft, so I thought it should work!"
"Indeed." He agreed, smiling softly at you. "But it's due to your kindness as well. Thank you."
"Ah..." Just like that, you were lost for words again. Yusuke was straightforward, you knew that, but this much?! Maybe he was saying all this because you were so bashful and never made a move yourself.
The longer you thought about it, it seemed to be true. You frowned, arguing with yourself in your head. Yusuke saw your array of facial features, ranging from embarrassed, to annoyance, to determination.
"Um, Y/-"
"L-Let's sit down, Yusuke!" You suggested, ushering him to the bench. You decided that you'd try be forward too, after all you couldn't just stay shy forever! However it was becoming increasingly and uncomfortably clear that the plans you had didn't go as smoothly in real life as they did in your head.
Completely lost on what to follow up with, you were all too aware of the crushing awkwardness that weighed down on you.
Yusuke had noticed all of this, and leaned in to catch a closer glimpse at your face. "Is something wrong?"
