Theodore closed the door behind him quietly, and peeked inside. The ever moving room was empty, his master currently away. He sighed in relief.
Leaving without a word was surely unfitting for an attendant; to do away with his job and instead go gallivanting? However there was a reason, an important one at that! He was searching for knowledge, and it was much needed.
He ushered himself to the table, and finally let go of the book he had been holding against his chest. It was thin and unlike anything he'd seen- he prefer its' light weight compared to the compendium.
"Oh, look who it is."
Theodore jumped, instantly grabbing the evidence. His sister, Elizabeth approached from the darkness.
"S-Sister! You gave me a fright." Theodore spluttered.
She smiled deviously. "Oh? Why would that be? Wouldn't you say it was you who was sneaking around?"
"I-I'd never do such a thing! I was merely... t-taking a stroll."
"And you let our master know about this?" Elizabeth asked knowingly. When Theodore dipped his head, she grinned.
"Oh, you deviant!" She laughed. "If you tell your dear sister what you were up to, maybe she'll keep quiet about this."
Theodore grimaced. He could never disappoint his master like this... but going along with Elizabeth's commands was equally soul-destroying.
He was silent, then sighed. "I left... to get this..."
He revealed the book, face burning. Elizabeth's eyes glimmered in excitement, and she quickly grabbed it.
"Ooh! What did he call this again? Hm... a margarine... no..."
Elizabeth listed various words before her face lit up. "Ah, a magazine! I do remember there were various types. Are these the kind with women in various outfits and positions?"
"What? No!" Theodore blushed, attempting to take the magazine back. However Elizabeth twirled around and avoided his reach.
She had opened it up and began flicking through the pages, 'hmm' ing and giggling all the while.
"Oh? Advice in dating?" Elizabeth said, glancing over to him. "Whatever would you need with information like this?"
At this point, Theodore wondered if his master finding out would be the better outcome.
"I-I simply wish to show my gratitude! I sought out for this in my best interests as an attendant."
Elizabeth chuckled. "Is that so? Well, I trust in your reasoning."
She finally handed the magazine back, and walked away with a skip in her step. Theodore on the other hand, felt drained of all his energy.
He opened it, flicking to the desired page. "... Well, I better study this..."_________________________________________
1. Words of affirmation"Oh, Theo! Sorry for making you wait." You apologised after jogging over. Theodore shook his head.
"It's not a bother at all. I'm simply glad to have your company." He replied genuinely, earning him a bashful look.
"Ah, well, still..." You scratched your cheek. "So, where do you want to go this time?"
Theodore cleared his throat nervously. "I've heard of these machines that can copy one's face, and the result can be kept as a small memento. If it's alright... I'd like to do this with you."
