"I really must thank you again for helping me, Y/n-chan!" Haru said to you, her face bright with a smile.
Her overwhelming positivity made you smile back, but you still felt a bit bashful at her genuine thanks. "It's nothing, really. Besides, I like gardening."
The fluffy-haired girl had asked you if you wanted to help with gardening, and so you agreed. Not only because she was a dear friend, but also because of the calming energy she gave off. You couldn't help but feel drawn to her.
Thinking this, you couldn't help but blush. Haru looked joyful at your reply.
"My, is that so? Then would it be too much to ask if we do this again?" She asked politely.
You looked up at her as your mouth fell open. The tomatoes dropped from your hands when you had been picking them. "A-Are you sure?"
Her expression remained gentle, but cheerful all the same. "Of course! I'd be happy to have a gardening partner."
You picked up the tomatoes, lightly dusting the dirt off to distract yourself from the fluttery feeling in your chest. "... Me too."
Your answer was honest, but left some things you were thinking about unsaid. Knowing that Haru had inherited a large business and seeing that she was also well-mannered and polite, you weren't sure if you were good enough to even be in her presence.
Even with the rest if your group of friends, each of them had something that made them interesting, and you... What did you have?
Hearing Haru speak to you in a soft tone brought you out of your sudden miserable thoughts. "Y/n-chan?"
You smiled at her, hoping it wouldn't be obvious that it was forced. "Ah, huh? Sorry, I was just daydreaming. Let's get back to work, shall we?"
With that quick response you turned your gaze back to the plants, taking off tomatoes and placing them in the basket. Haru kept her eyes on you, looking at you with worry before she returned to her own task.

Since the first time you helped out Haru, you and her would go up to the roof whenever you both had time. You would have been happy about the time you got to spend with her, but you couldn't stop yourself from thinking about what a nuisance you were. Haru was so kind, she wouldn't say anything out loud...
Now that it was after school, it'd be around the time you'd both go up to the roof, however Haru proposed a different idea.
"They'll be fine for now. I actually wanted to go somewhere, if that is alright with you?" She questioned.
You nodded. "Sure, I don't mind. Where did you want to go?"
Haru clasped her dainty hands together in front of her pink jumper, smiling at you warmly. "I'd like to visit the Jinbocho book store. I've heard many good things about that place. Did you know that they have a large selection?"
"I think I've passed by it a few times." You replied. Just like that, you were lulled into a conversation with the polite girl. For a while you had forgotten about your own self hatred, and instead was able to fully relax and have a pleasant interaction. Due to that the walk seemed quite short.
The shop was practically overflowing with books, even spilling out into the street were they were stacked on top of each other. It was plain to see that they were old but gold, judging from the dusty outer part and the interesting topics inside the books.
