Eyes still closed, you reached for your phone with a sleepy yawn. Once retrieving it, you didn't check the name before answering the call.
"Hello...?"
"Good morning." An immediately recognisable voice replied, and you quickly sat up.
"A-Akira, um... Good morning." You sheepishly said back, consciously smoothing down your bed head although you knew he couldn't see it. "Sorry, I just woke up..."
You heard a soft chuckle down the other line, and it was enough to make your chest flutter. "I can tell. I'd say I'm sorry for waking you up, but I'm happy I got to hear your sleepy voice."
Cheeks warming up, you smiled down at your sheets. "It's okay. I'm... Happy that I got to hear your voice this morning, too."
There was a pause. "Akira?"
"...Oh, it's nothing." He responded, but his tone wasn't as steady as usual. Actually, did he sound somewhat bashful? "Anyway, I didn't just call you to wake you up. I wanted to ask if you'd like to go on a date with me."
"A date?!" You repeated, caught off-guard. When you thought about it, it wasn't really a strange thing to ask, since he was your boyfriend... But that thought only made you more flustered.
You quickly answered before he got the wrong idea. "S... Sure! I'd love to!"
Once again, you heard another little hum-like chuckle. "That's good to hear. I'll come by your house soon."
"I know my way around now, I don't get lost..." You pouted softly. "...As much."
"I know, I just like spending as much time as I can with you."
Your face soon flushed again, but you couldn't control your smile. Holding the phone close, you spoke quietly. "It's the same for me... A-Anyway, I'll see you soon!"
"Yeah, see you then." Akira said. He paused, as if he wanted to say more, but nothing else followed but the dull tone of a hung up call.
Blinking, you eyed the phone's screen with confusion, but decided to brush it off. You had other things occupying your mind at the moment, like your date with Akira!
Wait, you had a date with Akira.
As your slung your feet over your bed, your stomach twisted up with nerves. It wasn't as if you spent time with your boyfriend one-to-one before, but the thought of properly giving it a name gave you unrelenting butterflies, ones you couldn't decipher whether it was anxiousness or excitement.
What did you know though, was that your were so happy.

After hearing a knock, you made it to the door at a rapid pace so your parents couldn't get there first. They were always 'awwing' at your relationship with Akira, especially since you were so shy. If they started talking to Akira, the embarrassment would never end!
You shut the door behind you, tucking stray hair behind your ear as you greeted him. "Hi, I hope the journey here wasn't too bad... Huh?"
Looking up, you could see even behind Akira's large glasses that his eyes appeared unfocused, and he was staring right at you.
"What's wrong?" You asked.
He noticed your quizzical stare, and looked down, absentmindedly twiddling his fringe in between his index finger and thumb.
"Nothing, this is just the first time I've seen you in something other than the school's uniform." He admitted, eyes directed elsewhere. "It suits you."
