Idly swinging your feet, your kept your gaze directed at the grass below. This was a habit for you, ever since you started going to daycare. It was easy for you to involve yourself like the other kids, so most of the time you'd sit and wait for time to pass. It had become a habit, so much so that you could tell whenever the grass had been slightly cut.

Despite the aloof facade you put on, you still noticed the things around. One thing that was different was a new caretaker. At first the job posed to be difficult for him, as all the kids would tug on his sleeves and jump on his back. Eventually though, he improve. Either that, or he just got used to how chaotic things were at the daycare...

At least there were pencils and paper to use there. You were almost finished with your drawing, concentrating on colouring when you felt the presence if someone beside you.

"Is that your parents?" It was Yu.

You glanced between him and the paper. It seemed that you must've looked uncomfortable, as he smiled reassuringly at you.

"Don't be worried, I'm sure they'll love it." He said calmly. "Why don't you show when they pick you up?"

It was true that it was almost time to go home. For you though, you had much longer to wait.

"I... Can't." You finally answered. "They're busy."

Yu was silent for a moment, yours words appearing to register in his mind. Even with your gloomy reply, he didn't look fazed.

"Well, we can keep it safe until you can." He promised. "For now, want to draw more?"

You couldn't really turn down that offer. When he sat down adjacent to you, you couldn't help but look at him curiously as took a piece of paper for himself.

"You're gonna draw too?" You asked.

Yu smiled to himself. He noticed before you didn't join in on the other activities, so it was nice to see you invested now.

"Not exactly. Watch this." He replied, and instead of picking a coloured pencil like you had assumed, he started to fold the paper.

You gawked at him, but said nothing. Eventually he stopped, and presented a small crane paper figure from his hand. You couldn't help but gasp in awe.

"H-How'd you do that?!"

"Magic. And a little bit of practice." He said. "Want to try it?"

You nodded and grabbed a sheet of paper, watching him closely for the next step. He held back a chuckle and got to work, folding slowly so you could follow his lead.

After a few painstakingly long minutes of concentration, you lifted up the appear figure you had made. This time, it was a butterfly.

"Woah, cool!" You remarked, before noticing your sudden increase in volume. You glanced tentatively at Yu for his reaction, but he just smiled back.

"Well done." He commented with a nod of his head. "Looks like you've got some magic too."

You found yourself laughing before you could even stop it, but what was stranger was the fact that you didn't want to.

For a while longer you chatted to Yu. Despite being quiet and overall straightforward nature, it was really easy to talk to him. The silence in between his short answers invited you to talk more, more than you ever had since you started attending the daycare.

The sun began to set, but you hadn't even realised. Not until a familiar voice called out to you. "Sorry I'm late!"

Your mother was there, exhaustion apparent on her features. As she approached she noticed all the other children had been picked up already, and her eyebrows furrowed with guilt.
