Akihiko Sanada x Male!Reader (P3)

"Ow." Akihiko hissed, gritting his teeth in pain. At the sound you looked up from your book, raising an eyebrow.

"Did you overdo it again?" You asked, already knowing the answer.

Him knowing that too, he looked to the side. "Well... Alright, I might've."

You clicked your tongue in faux disappointment, failing to hide a smile. "Okay, come over here." 

Patting your duvet covers, Akihiko slowly sat down and groaned, slowly rolling his neck. Without much thought you put your hands on his shoulders and massaged them. 

"I've been stuck with this pain for a while." He complained. "It's really getting in the way of my training."

"That's your body telling you to rest for a minute." You explained, and he sighed in reply.

"I wish it was a faster process. I don't have time to waste lying around." 

You rolled your eyes although he couldn't see it. It wasn't a surprise he'd say something like that, but you admired the persistence he had. When it wasn't hurting him that is. 

"You do now." 

Akihiko turned his head to look at you, wincing slightly. "What do you mean?"

You smiled triumphantly. "You said before that I can decide on our next date. Well, we're spending it laying down doing nothing!" 

"Huh?" He looked to be in thought for a moment, then frowned. "If that's what you want... But are you sure you want to waste it on doing that?" 

"How's it a waste? I'll get to cuddle you, so it's a win for me." You answered, smiling wider at the way his ears went red.

He stammered, trying to answer when he eventually complied with a silent nod.  He wasn't quite happy with how his pain forced him to rest, but seeing you so happy about lying down with him made him consider it. 

After you set up an appropriate amount of pillows, Akihiko slowly lay down and found it much more comfortable that he expected. Maybe it wasn't so bad to spend time just lying around like this. It helped that you were there too, but he wasn't going to mention anything about that. 

"See, this is what you were missing." You said, lying your arm across him lazily. Your instinctive affection made his face burn like usual. 

"It's... Good." He replied slowly. 

You looked at him for a moment, wide eyed. "Aigis? When did you get here?"

"Ugh, you be quiet." Akihiko grumbled, squishing your cheeks between his thumb and fingers. 

You laughed, removing his hand and holding it instead. He wasn't always so affectionate himself, but he always laced his fingers with yours when holding hands. "Sorry. But you do have to remember you're human sometimes. You do know that, right?"

"Yes, I do." 

"Really? Your promoter consumption tells me otherwise." 

"All athletes at least do that much." He responded, sounding somewhat proud. 

With a plan in mind, you hummed. "Hmm, I guess so. But there's only one way to tell if you're really human." 

Akihiko raised his eyebrows, not sure what you meant. But he soon had an idea when you tickled his side. The laugh that came out was loud and unexpected by him, and you couldn't help but laugh too. 

You stopped, and simply smiled at the glare he gave you. "You passed the test. Good job!" 

"That wasn't fair play. You'd get disqualified in any one on one match with that." 

"I doubt any boxing match would have tickl- hah!" You began to laugh as you felt his hand on your side. He smiled victoriously once you pushed him away, and you huffed.

"... Okay, I had that coming." 

Akihiko shrugged. "You shouldn't have challenged me- agh, dammit." 

He held onto his shoulder again, expression pained. You looked at him worriedly, patting the cushions behind him to prop him up properly. 

"Alright, time for you to rest properly." You chided. "Go to sleep for a while."

Although he was embarrassed at the attention, he spoke his mind. "I will... If you stay with me." 

His eyes didn't quite meet yours, but you could tell by his red ears it was a genuine request. Your own face felt warm too.

"I was planning on doing that anyway!"
