"Hrm..." You watched as another present got added to seemingly never ending pile.

"Ah, thank you!" Akechi smiled at the girl, who giggled bashfully. The security guard led her away as the door closed.

Akechi turned to you. "Well, I think that may be the last of them."

"Oh, is it?" You muttered, frowning.

Akechi was the guest on another talk show, and since it was the festive season he had received many gifts from the fangirls in the audience. The desk that was once bare was now occupied by stacks of wrapped gifts. You knew this was to be expected with celebrities, but it still left you feeling sour. Plus, seeing all those presents made you conscious of the one you had tucked away in your bag.

"I would think so, there is quite a few." Akechi pointed out.

You fought back your grumbles. "Yeah, there is."

Noticing your change in tone, Akechi glanced over to you. "What's wrong? Are you not feeling-?"

'Knock, knock!'

He swivelled around to the door, opening it again. Another blushing girl was behind it, holding a box tightly in her hands. "U-Um, Akechi-san!"

Immediately, a polite smile made it's way to his face. "Yes?"

"Here, th-this is for you!" The box rattled as she pushed it towards him.

"Why thank you." He took it, waving as she was led away with starry-eyes. "Have a nice Christmas."

The door clicked shut once again. Sour? No, you were bitter.

Akechi placed the box on top, the tower wobbling a bit. "Seems I was wrong." He chuckled lightly.

You didn't say anything in reply. Akechi strolled over to your side, taking a seat beside you.

"What is it?" He asked. You turned your face away.

"Nothing."

He reached and poked your cheek. "Come on, no need to pout. Tell me."

You averted your eyes again, but couldn't help but glance at the gifts. Akechi followed your gaze, and it clicked. "Ah."

"What...?" You mumbled.

"So that's what has been bothering you?" He questioned, although he already knew the answer.

Shrugging your shoulders, you remained aloof. "I don't know what you're talking about."

Akechi smiled softly. "You know it's nothing more than them being nice. 'Tis the season after all."

"Yeah," you scoffed. "There's still a while till you go on, you might as well open them now."

"Should I? Hmm..."

Really, you just wanted to see what they had got him. If it was something amazing that made him happy, you knew then that you definitely couldn't give him your gift. There's no way it would live up to whatever was in those sparkling boxes.

"You know, I think I know my best gift already."

Rolling your eyes, you huffed. "Oh really?"

"I do. It's right here." His arms were then unexpectedly wrapped around your shoulders. The closeness made your face go warm, but you still couldn't shake off the jealousy you felt.

"... That's a really bad line."

He chuckled, resting his chin on your shoulder. "It might be, but it's true."

Somehow you managed to smile, but it wasn't long before it dropped. Akechi peered at your face.

"Will you tell me the truth now?"

"I'm... I'm not jealous. It's just a lot of presents from random girls, that's all!"

A smile lifted up the corners of his mouth. "I see. But you know, I never did say you were jealous."

"Ah-!" You shut your mouth and turned your head, meeting his smiling face. "I..."

"Okay... I am." Seeing now way out, you admitted it. "It's just... You might like what they got over... What I... Got you..."

Now surprised, he blinked at you quizzically. "You got me something?"

Wordlessly you took the present out of your bag, handing it to him without making eye contact. Your cheeks were burning.

Akechi said nothing either, seemingly stunned. You heard the careful unwrapping of the paper, and you risked a glance at his reaction. His mouth had fell open a bit, and he looked over the items a few times as if confirming they were real.

"I, uh..." You started, not sure how to start. "I thought maybe you'd like a mystery novel, even though you'll probably figure out the twist early." You chuckled sheepishly. "And it's getting cold lately, so... I tried to knit some mittens. I asked a friend from my hometown for help, but it might look kinda odd..."

Before you could say much else, Akechi had wrapped you up in another tight hug, mostly to hide your sight from his glossy eyes. It had been a long time since he had gotten a gift so personal and thoughtful from somebody who really knew him.

"Goro?" You called, tentatively patting his back.

"I love them." He stated, voice shaky before he cleared his throat. "And I love you." He pulled back only to plant several kisses on your face.

"Wha, G-Goro!" You couldn't stop the giggles that spilled out from the feeling of his lips.

Akechi smiled happily. "What? We've still got a while till I'm on air, right?" He kissed you on the forehead and then rested his chin on your head. "So let me cuddle you a bit more."

Now with your face in his chest, you felt better that you could hide your blushing cheeks. "O-Okay. I don't mind that too much..."
