Standing by school entrance was you, your trusty camera in your hands as you attempted to find the right angle. The photography club wasn't as popular as others, so you also helped with Shujin's newspaper by taking photos for their articles.

Whenever you were using your camera it was as if you were in a whole other world. It was easy for you to simply tune and just focus on the image presenting itself through the lens, however hearing a familiar voice broke you out of your concentrated daze easily.

"Focused as usual, I see." The student council president smiled politely at you.

You leant back and laughed sheepishly. "Ah yeah, pretty much."

Makoto and you knew each other already from you taking student photos for the yearbook. Due to that you became a team for a little while, but it ended much sooner than you hoped. Admittedly in that short time you had developed a crush on her, but there was no way you could say that out loud.

"This really seems to be your forte, doesn't it?" She chuckled a bit. "I haven't seen your portfolio, but I'm sure from how much effort you put in that it'd be wonderful."

"I dunno about that, but thanks." You rubbed the back of your head. "Um, I have a couple of pictures already, if you wanted to see...?"

Makoto blinked twice, surprised, then nodded happily. "Of course, if that's alright with you."

You handed the camera to her, and she scrolled through the gallery with interest. After some time of anxiously waiting for her reaction, she looked over to you and smiled again.

"Just as I thought, you really are talented." She complimented. "I never wouldn't thought to take pictures the way you have."

"It's just practice, really."

"Don't be so modest." Makoto handed the camera back to you. "I noticed there's a theme of nature in your photos. Was that intentional?"

Your face lit up in recognition as you answered. "Oh, yeah. We usually have a theme to go by when we take pictures, then later we compare photos and review them. It's a good way to have fun and improve, too."

The dark-haired girl listened attentively as you spoke. "I see. That must be helpful." Her expression was kind as you looked back to you. "Well, if there's any way I can help, don't hesitate to let me know."

You unconsciously scratched your cheek, feeling how war, your face was. "Uh, yeah, I will. I-If you're not busy, Nijima-san."

"Please, Makoto is fine." She replied.

"Alright... Makoto." You returned the smile albeit it being a bashful one. "Then you can call by my first name, too."

Her response is somewhat delayed, but soon enough she nods with a small laugh. "Okay then, Y/n."

There's a lull in the conversation that somehow isn't awkward, but it's eventually broken when Makoto's eyes widen as if startled.

"Oh, I forgot! I have some... Leftover work at the student council room to do." She bowed her lightly before turning away. "It was nice talking to you, Y/n."

Without much wait for an answer she heads off, footsteps oddly determined for a regular visit to the room she was in daily. Still, you waved as you watched her go, letting out a sigh of breathe you didn't know you were holding.

The short interaction left you content, as you thought it'd be a while until the next one. At that moment you had no idea what your future planned with the student council president.

After exchanging photos and giving opinions, everyone at the photography club were unsure of what to do with the remaining time. The themes were vague and simple, and with no events at school taking place there was plenty of free time to spare.
