After the last class had finished, you chatted with your friend Junpei for a bit. To be more specific, you were asking where's he's been.
"We haven't played a game in ages." You complained light-heartedly, pulling a chair over and sitting down. "Have you lost your touch or something?"
"What? Speak for yourself!" Junpei responded with a laugh, before awkwardly scratching face. "I'm just busy, with uh..."
You raised your eyebrows, questioning him silently.
Junpei tried to smile as reassuringly as he could, but you knew something was up. Before he could say anything though, another classmate approached.
"What are you two doing?" Yukari asked, folding her arms.
Junpei's face lit up at the interruption. "Yuka-tan!"
A look of confusion quickly made its way on her face. "Wh-What...?"
"Nothing, nothing! I was just talking to my pal here about baseball." He explained. "Right, bro?"
You nodded. "And how you've got a full schedule for no apparent reason, right, buddy?"
"I-I've got reasons! Plenty of 'em, actually." Junpei said hurriedly.
You stared at him a while longer before finally letting out a sigh. "Well, alright. Just say the word when you've got some free time. It's hard to play a game of ball by yourself."
"You've got it! When that time comes you'll be happy to know my new and improved skills." Junpei boasted. You smiled at him. You could tell he was being honest.
"Is that what this is about? Baseball?" Yukari questioned.
"Yeah, I don't know many people who play it other than Junpei and me." You answered. "There isn't a club, either."
"You really think no one else plays baseball in this school? It's easy." Yukari stated, looking unconvinced. "Archery takes a lot more effort."
Ignoring the subtle insult, you straightened your posture in your (stolen) seat, interested. "Archery?"
She smiled a bit, obviously proud of her chosen sport. "Yeah, I had practice yesterday. It's so much more than just picking up and swinging a bat."
An idea came to mind. "Have you ever played baseball before?"
"Huh?" Yukari blinked. "No, but-"
"Then you should play! Specifically against me." You suggested. "Then you cans see how cool baseball really is."
Becoming oddly serious, Yukari narrowed her eyes. "Then you should try archery and see how tough it is!"
Extending your hand, you grinned at her. "Alright then!"
Surprisingly competitive, Yukari gave your hand a strong shake. "Deal! We can save the best sport for last."
"So, baseball?" You guessed.
"I was talking about archery!" Yukari corrected, eyebrows furrowing.
You laughed. This competition sounded a lot of fun. "Then we'll start tomorrow!"
Yukari agreed, and the two of you split paths down the hallway, leaving Junpei shell-shocked in his seat at what had just transpired.

The next day Yukari met up with you after school had promised, and you lead her up to the field. Luckily the tennis team wasn't using it, so it was empty.
