Summer time was the perfect time to relax and doing things you liked, especially with the absence of school, and you were already at the end of it. With another palace conquered and an ally made, there some time before the inevitable next big event. You'd certainly weren't expecting all of this when you decided to transfer with Akira to Shibuya, but you weren't complaining.
However... To do things you liked, you needed money. As you looked into your measly wallet with only coins to spare, you heaved an outward sigh.
"Hm? What is it?" Makoto asked, hearing your sigh. Although it was summer she was still on top of her studying, notebook splayed on the table and a panda pencil case beside it.
"Makoto..." Like your aspirations, you collapsed in the seat in front of her. "How do I get rich quick?"
The girl blinked confusedly at you for a moment before awkwardly chuckling. "Well, I suppose many get lucky with the lottery... But I doubt that'd be your best bet."
At your second sigh, she smiled. "Wealth can exist with time though. Why don't you get a part-time job? I always see advertisements at the station. I'm sure you'll find something."
"That's right, I didn't think of that! I'll go now and see what's there!" With newfound motivation you got up from your seat, jogging to the door. "See ya, Makoto!"
The door shut quickly, the bell jingling loudly.
"Jeez, that girl." Sojiro remarked, drying a cup. "Always a whirlwind." Makoto giggled in reply.

After traversing the large train station and occasionally getting lost, you came across the advertisements Makoto spoke of. Excited, you pulled out your phone and began scanning the numbers.
"A florists, huh? That sounds nice." You said to yourself happily, and held the phone up to your ear. "Hello? I noticed you were looking for staff, and-"
"Thank you for calling! However I'm sorry, but that space has been filled!" A kind voice said over the line.
The quick rejection almost gave you whiplash, but you remained upbeat. "Oh, alright!"
Well, there was still a few on the list. Next was the convenience store.
"Um, hi! I saw you were seeking applications, and-"
"Oh that's still there?" The answer was a surprised one. "I meant to take that down ages ago, the position has been taken. But thanks for calling anyway."
"Ah... Okay..."
One left... The Beef Bowl shop.
"Hello, I was looking for-"
You heard utter commotion on the other line, the shop sounded packed and busy with customers.
"What? A rainy day special? We don't have that, and it's not even raining...!" The voice said, clearly speaking to someone else. You raised your eyebrows.
"Um, hello...?" You called again. "There was an ad that you were accepting applications?"
They finally recognised you. "Sorry but we're way too busy to take on anymore staff. Can't pay 'em enough either! Better luck somewhere else kid."
They hung up. In shock, you stared at the phone.
"What the heck?! None of them?!" Your voice had raised somewhat in your exasperation, causing passerby's to stare. Feeling sheepish, you made yourself scarce.
