As expected, Naoto disappeared not long after his shadow appeared on the midnight channel. The group gathered at Junes, the atmosphere tense with frustration that they couldn't prevent the circumstances at hand. All that could be done now was to go after him.
Kanji was particularly restless. "That dumbass... Why's he always gotta do things himself?"
"It can't be helped now." Chie said with a frown, but looked at the faces in the team determinedly. "Let's just save him as soon as possible, before anything bad happens!"
"Yeah, that's right. That's what is most important right now." You added, folding your arms.
With everyone in agreement, Yu made the decision to go into the television today so that they could get a vague understanding of what they were dealing with.
Once finding Naoto's whereabouts, you were surprised. "I thought it'd be like some old fashioned detective novel over here, but..."
Yosuke grinned to himself. "A secret base, huh? Looks like even he can loosen up a bit."
You smiled back. "It could be worse, I guess."
Rise pouted from the sidelines, and instead of responding your comment she summoned Himiko. "There's no doubt about it, Naoto-kun is in there. But you guys should be careful, okay?"
"We will be." Yu promised, his words sincere but his tone sounding monotone.
As if not affected by the serious atmosphere, Teddie jumped excitedly. "Alrighty, then let's get saving! I'm ready to start clawbbering some shadows!"
With half the group collectively groaning and the other half ignoring Teddie, you all entered the laboratory. The inside was much more grim than you would assume from the exterior, the lights dim and the metal grates making your footsteps echo loudly in the darkness. Immediately after entering, a warning sounded out over the speakers.
"UNKNOWN INTRUDER DETECTED INSIDE FACILITY..."
"They already know?" Yukiko looked around, bewildered.
Kanji clicked his tongue. "Dammit. It's just about what did expect from him though."
Yu adjusted his grip on his sword. "We have no choice. Let's keep going."
And so you pressed on, wary of the shadows that were roes unable alerted from the announcement. Both the flooring and the walls seemed to creak with every movement, and even with the railings present it didn't do much to ease your worry of the floor coming apart below you.
It had been quite abut of travelling between rooms, each one still holding a dense air of desolation. Some had rows of computers, reminiscent of what would be an actual lab. As you all descended deeper into the base, the more warnings were sent out for the speakers.
"This has never happened before..." You observed, feeling somber.
Rise's voice rang out. "This is how he really feels, right? Naoto-kun isn't one to mix with other people."
"Well, not like we can go back now." You spoke, twirling your weapon.
"Mhm, that's right." Rise agreed. "You guys have made some good progress. How are you holding up?"
Yukiko smiled. "Oh, we're fine." Her dark eyes then fell to Teddie as she sighed. "Teddie is still getting used to his persona though."
The bear looked as though he had been through suite the rough and tumble, but was still enthusiastic. "A grizzled warrior like me is doing just fine! I'll grin and bear any challenge." He smiled confidently. "Yuki-chan, if you need me to protect you, just say the word!"
