"Le, maine kab fun banaya yaar? Don't say kuch bhi, I was genuinely asking you ki aapka iraada kyu badal gaya ab?" Naina stared at him with a dramatic expression.

"First of all, stop calling me Aap Aap," Sameer said in a stern voice.

"Oh haa, biwi aur izzat ek dictionary me nahi aate na?" She repeated his dialogue with a sarcastic look, making him sigh in peeve.

"Toh tum batao mujhe ki kyu tumhe ladki ki jagah ladka chahiye hai?" Naina queried eagerly while staring at his adorable facial expression.

"Agar mujhe beti hogi toh mujhe bahut strong banna padega, being a father of a daughter isn't easy. Dekha hi haina maine tumhare baba ko, kitne upset the woh shadi wale din is baat se ki unki beti ab kisi aur ke ghar chali jayegi for lifetime. I felt so bad for him, chahe unhone mujhe kitna bhi sunaya ho but I can't ignore the fact that he always loved you so much and cared for you like a baby." Sameer let out his growing pain and fear in an extremely low voice, the heartbreaking images of his wailing father-in-law flashing in his mind to vaporize his desire for the time being of embracing a baby girl.

"I understand your feelings and thoughts as a father, but meri jaan yeh humare haath me thodi na hota hai. It's a god gift...chahe ladki ho ya ladka. It shouldn't matter to us kyuki dono bhi humari jaan hoge aur dono ko humein best se best sab kuch dena hai." Naina explained to her agitated husband in a soft voice while stroking his midnight-dark stubble, consoling his worries and insecurities with her tender smile.

"You are right, Naina...but mujhe imagine kar ke hi kaisa bhi feel ho raha hai, aur socho usne bhaag kar shadi karli toh?" Sameer said with his brows knitted, his lips parted, and dread etched on his face at visualizing the worst possible circumstances to take place in the future to leave him heartbroken.

"Hey bhagwan. Tum kya kuch bhi soch rahe ho...woh kyu bhaag kar shadi karegi?" Naina asked him annoyingly.

"Agar maine use uske boyfriend se shadi karne se mana kar diya toh pyaar me andhi ho kar woh bhaag nahi jayegi humara ghar chod ke?" He replied to her with no logic in his assumption and saw his wife resting her hands on either side of her waist, shaking her head in disapproval while staring at him with reproaching eyes.

"Bhulo mat tumne khud mujhse love marriage ki hai," Naina said with a distasteful look casting her round face.

Sameer shyly rubbed the side of his veiny neck while smiling mirthfully, his eyes crinkled at the edges with a ray of moonlight embracing his young face as he answered her in a delightful tone - "Haa toh I was a good boy na with stable income and no bad habits."

"Oho, toh tumhara matlab hai ki humari beti kisi mawali ya jobless ladke ke pyaar me pagal ho jayegi?" Naina couldn't help but question him sarkily, totally amused by her husband's audacity to cross the level of being a stupid, illogical, and hypocritical man.

"Maybe." He shrugged off his broad shoulders in utter discontent.

"Shut up, kya chote baccho jaisi baatein kar rahe ho. Yeh koi movie nahi hai jo tum soch rahe ho ki humari beti agar kisi ruffian ke pyar me padh gayi toh tum uska pyaar accept nahi karoge aur phir woh ghar se bhaag jayegi...aur phir woh ladka use sukh nahi dega kyuki woh toh gunda hai, aur phir thode din baad tumhe jab apni galti ka ehsaas hoga toh tum apni beti ko call karoge par woh call uthayegi nahi...kyuki uska phone toh uska so-called husband le leta hai...aur phir tumhe bechaini hone lagti hai isliye tum apni beti ko sadak par dhundne nikalte ho aur phir...." Naina's blabbering mouth was furiously pinned by Sameer's large palm as he bored his ferocious eyes into her confused and shocked ones for abruptly stopping her fantastic monologue, and he gritted his teeth at her.
