luke leaned against the counter, exhausted because he had spent the entire day baking calum's birthday cupcakes because he messed up four times and they had to be perfect and also because he was up the entire previous night figuring out reservations so that's where he fell asleep against the counters on the floor, covered in frosting and calum came through the door, glancing at the clock to see it was actually his birthday because it was 12:02 and he's looking for his boyfriend around the house but then hears a shuffle from the kitchen, walking in and seeing three dozen cupcakes, some spelling out 'happy birthday calum <3' in icing and he smiled, before smiling at his boyfriend when he sees him passed out cold with blue frosting on his cheek and arm so calum giggles, picking him up after he took a picture and luke stirs in his arms when he's walking to the bedroom 'c-callie?' 'sh sh sh..go back to sleep baby..i got you.' and luke nuzzles in his neck and wakes up the next morning to a post on calum's instagram of him 'lil cupcake <3.'
