A Samurai's Love (Simon Blackquill x Khura'inese! Reader)

A/N: For this one, just pretend that Simon and Athena came to Khura'in after Bucky's case!

Your Pov:

I sat in the private room next to the throne room. Gossip had spread throughout the palace about a new defense lawyer. However, I wasn't very interested in it, so I didn't pay it much mind. It wasn't my place to.

I was one of many concubines in the palace. We were chosen by the queen for Minister Inga. But rarely ever did he call for us. I stood and headed towards the door. One of the others called out to me. "Where are you going?" I looked at them. "I'm going for a walk. I won't be gone long."

With that, I quickly exited the room and made my way out of the palace. Just by my outfit alone, people would know who I was.

(Pretend it has a magatama instead!)

Each girl was given the same dress and shoes but in a different color. But the choker stayed the same.

I walked down in the town and started making my way to the fountain. I kept my head down as I walked past the various stands and carts.

Once I got to the fountain, I sat on the edge and dipped my hand in the water. It was cool and refreshing. As I did, something landed next to me. I turned to see a hawk perching on the edge of the fountain. It hopped closer before tilting its head and jumping onto my lap. I smiled.

"Well, aren't you sweet?" You used your pointer finger to rub the top of its head. It screeched quietly and moved closer. As you pet it, you heard someone calling out. "Taka! Taka! Here, Birdy!" You heard another voice, closer. "Cykes-dono, I think that's enough. He should be close by."

A man came into view with a girl following. From just their clothes alone, I could tell that they were not from here. As the hawk saw them, it screeched but didn't move. The two quickly approached me.

The girl smiled. "Taka, there you are! Silly bird!" The man looked at me. "Excuse her, miss. But we've been searching for him. He flew off earlier." Taka screeched at me once more before going to perch on the man's shoulder. I stood from my spot. "I didn't think he was a pet. He's very well behaved. He came right up to me and jumped into my lap. I'm (Y/n) (L/n), by the way."

He pet Taka for a moment before speaking. "I am Prosecutor Simon Blackquill and this is Athena Cykes, defense attorney. Thank you for taking care of Taka."

Something about him drew me in. Maybe it was his eyes, or his stance, or the way he carried himself proudly yet humbly.

He seemed to be examining me the same way.

Athena spoke up. "Ooh, Simon! I can really hear your heart! How cute!" He looked at her. "Cykes-dono! Be quiet." I smiled at him. "Don't worry about it, Prosecutor Blackquill. It was nothing." He hummed. "Please, call me Simon." I nodded. "Then you can call me (Y/n)."

We soon got into a conversation with Athena interjecting here and there. Then, Athena asked me a question.

"So, what do you do? Like, for work?"

I looked at Simon, then at her. I hesitated. "Well...I-" I was cut off by a voice from behind me.

"There you are. I've been looking all over the place for your pretty face. Still a wild one, eh?"

I quickly turned around, but Simon spoke up as I turned. "Who are you? And what is your purpose with her?" I bit my lip. "Don't worry about it, Simon. It's-"

I was interrupted again by another voice.

"Hmph. I'm Inga Karkhuul Khura'in. Justice Minister. (Y/n) here is one of my concubines. Heh, she's a beauty, eh?"

As I looked towards the ground, I caught sight of Simon and Athena tensing. Minister Inga continued. "Well, we have to go. I can't have her running off with some no name foreigners." I had no choice but to follow as Minister Inga walked off. I looked at Simon one more time.

"Goodbye, Simon."

No One's Pov:

Simon and Athena watched as you walked away with the justice minister. Athena turned to Simon. "There's no way she's a concubine! Or one for that old man either! He's gross!" Simon nodded. "She doesn't look much older than you. You do know what a concubine is, don't you, Cykes-dono?"

Before she could answer, Widget answered for her.

"In Khura'in's culture, concubines are used for producing a royal heir if the queen cannot or chooses to not produce one herself. They range in age from 18 to 21."

Athena bit her lip. "I may have gotten Widget upgraded..." Simon sighed. "With that information, I'm surprised the justice minister didn't try to get you as an exotic concubine. Then again, the lack of manners and grace just might have saved you the trouble."

Athena huffed, Widget turning red for a moment before going back to normal. "We have to go see her! And maybe take her back home with us! I can tell that you like her! It was love a first sight!" Simon sighed. "We cannot intrude on their culture, Cykes-dono. But we should make sure that (Y/n) is alright. I believe Wright-dono is waiting outside the palace for us."

Athena grinned. "Then what are you waiting for?! Let's go see your girlfriend!"
