I am on the last case (#5) of Investigations 2. Everything with Edgeworth in it, is the best! I cried a little at the end of case 3! But once I finish Investigations 2, I will start Dual Destinies! You all know what this means! One shots and everything else for Simon Blackquill and a lot of other characters!
Now, I'm going to talk about what I thought of Investigations 2 from case 1 to 4 since I haven't finished 5 yet. If you don't want to be spoiled, do not read this chapter.
You will get spoiled!
Case 1:
I thought this case was kind of weird with the addition of Nicole and De Killer. I liked how they set up the scene to be like 'oh, look for the red rain coat' and then use that to turn the crime onto Nicole. I liked Nicole a lot because she reminded me of Lotta. So it was really hard for me to think that she did it.
Now, this is probably going to get me murdered, but I thought Horace Knightly was kind of attractive when I first saw him. I am the prime example of 'always likes the villains without knowing they're the villians'! I have done this with Godot, Matt, Kristoph, and a lot more! He also reminded of Luke Atmey a little.
I never thought that case would go the way it did. I didn't think Nicole was in on it at all, but she was. I kind of saw the gun swap coming since it was the first case and all. Overall, I thought this was a good first case.
Case 2:
I absolutely loved the beginning cut scene. I loved the sound of the bell and seeing the lights flash on and off. It reminded me of something out of a horror film. I feel like however, they could've chosen different characters for the inmates.
I get that they wanted to make a reference and used Sahwit, but I feel like it could've been better. They could've used Richard, Acro, or even Godot for a better reference. I know I would've happily taken those over Sahwit. For the inmates, they could've had men and women, not just men. They could've used El Tigre, Iris, or even Gant. We know that some murderers do not get executed as Sahwit is proof of that.
Patricia Roland was neutral to me. I never thought of her in a negative or positive light. I just thought that she was one of those 'you think she did it, but she's just there for comic relief' characters. I never thought they'd pin her for that position.
Dogen was a character I got confused about. From the moment the dog was thought to have wiped away the blood, I thought Dogen and the dog killed the victim. But as Dogen never got nervous, I eventually took that as a hint and looked elsewhere.
I liked the Berry Big Circus reference and the one character they show. I also liked Simon too. I thought he was cute in a best friend kind of way. I feel like he would be that one best friend that everyone has.
Ray Shields was a character I liked from the very beginning of this case. I just really loved his carefree but serious at times attitude. I liked seeing him interact with everyone. And I absolutely loved the references to Gregory.
I had mixed feelings when I met Justine Courtney. At first, the way she looked reminded of Maya and Mia a little bit. Her attitude, however, put me off to say the least. I hated how everytime we saw her, her answer to us for anything we did was 'The PIC has your badge' or 'I'll take your badge.' It kind of irritated me.
Sebastian Debeste was kind of strange to me. He wasn't like any prosecutor I'd met before in the series. He was dopey and kind of an airhead. At first, I thought he was just a way for her to say what she wanted to. But, I think Sebastian is kind of dopey and emotional. But I like that about him. I'm the beginning until case 4, I thought he was a little annoying. Then, I slowly came to like him.
Case 3:
Ok, the beginning cut scene made me do a double take when I first saw it. I was like 'Why am I watching a cooking musical? Isn't this about murder?' Jeff Master and Kate were two characters I tried really hard to understand and like. I related a lot to Kate's struggle of trying to prove Master's innocence. Jeff Master felt like a very faint character that was like 'I'm here only when you mention me'. And at first, I totally thought Kate was like Master's friend or girlfriend until the game broke the news to me.
I didn't think Kate was as young as she was. She looks older than she does. And also, when we take on Gregory's case, I thought young Ray was a young teen (15-16). He didn't look 18 to me.
I really liked seeing actual conflict between Von Karma and Gregory.
However, I did not like the contestants of Master's competition. Delicia being a pharmacist, Dover being a sculptor, and Gustavia having a taste disorder just didn't sit right with me. I felt like the characters could've been better.
I also feel like there was no reason to throw Larry into the case. All Larry did was run away from a room screaming 'poison gas'. Anyone could've done it.
I actually cried at the end of the case when it showed Ray talking to the picture of him and Gregory.
Case 4:
This is one of my favorite cases from this game. I loved the beginning cut scene. The ambiance of it was really great. When Karin brought Kay into the office, I almost flipped. Seeing her with her hair down was strange. She looked so beautiful. And seeing her talk so soft and hesitantly made me feel so bad for her. Seeing everyone try to defend Kay warmed my heart.
Oh, and when Edgeworth finally dropped his bag on the desk and pretty much said 'Fine. Take it. How about that bi-I mean Judge Courtney?' I lost it. I was so excited that he finally put Judge Courtney in her place. For so long she was getting him with 'I'll take your badge' and he pretty much told her then 'Have it. I don't want that crap anymore' At this scene, I was practically jumping up and down.
That was how much I had disliked Judge Courtney. Everytime I saw her before, I was always like 'Oh my god. Why? Why are you here?' Sebastian made that statement 10× worse. But, they both redeemed themselves at the end of this case.
I finally started to like Judge Courtney when she got on our side and indicted Blaise as the culprit. Once she helped us out and got off her power trip, I started to like her more. By the end of the case I was fully liking her.
Sebastian took me a bit longer to come around. Once I saw he was just like every child: wanting to impress and be successful all for the sake of their parents, I began to feel bad. But when Blaise started to verbally degrade Sebastian, I came around. He was another character I related to. When he ran off crying and disappeared, I knew how he felt. He may be a bit dopey, but he tries.
And that's all that matters...
In his case at least.
I have not finished Case 5 yet. Do not say anything about case 5. Period. I do not want to be spoiled on the final case.
Also, do not say anything about any of the Dual Destinies cases. I do not want to be spoiled on that either!
I want to be able to experience everything completely blind
If you have any opinions you'd like to share on cases 1 through 4, please let me know. But PLEASE, do not spoil anything! Thanks!
