Somebody He Used To Know (Manfred Von Karma x Reader)

Requested by streetconeamber

Your Pov:

I sat up in the bed, looking at the empty side next to me. It was nothing unusual as he always left at this time for work. He was my boyfriend, Manfred Von Karma. I got dressed into some regular clothes and went about my day. Today, I felt kind of faint and light headed but I had only gotten 4 hours of sleep due to work, so I knew I was only sleep deprived. Today was a day off for me so I didn't have to go to work. Just then, my laptop, which I left open, dinged.

I sighed and walked over to it. I brushed my finger over the mousepad, lighting the screen up. I had an email in my inbox. I opened it, dreading what it might say. It was a group email from people at work. I bit my lip and began reading.

'Hey you lazy pig,

This is to let you know we're all taking our vacation days and giving you all our work. You never get a bonus and if you don't do this, you won't get one this time either! Hope you enjoy your time in the office since you'll be working overtime and not getting paid for it.

P.S.: Heard your boyfriend's going to break up with you.

I closed the email and turned off the laptop. Everyone at work loved to make my life hell. I tried my best to do everything asked of me, but it never worked in my favor. I hated my job.

The last line reverberated in my mind. I walked up to our bedroom. Once inside, I grabbed my suitcase and started packing my things. I mean, if he was going to break up with me, why don't I do it first? After I finished, it looked like I never even lived there. I headed downstairs and grabbed my keys. I turned off all the lights and went to my car. I put my bags in the back and drove off.

A Few Hours Later:

No One's Pov:

Some time later, Von Karma arrived home. He paid no mind to the turned off lights, thinking (Y/n) went to bed early. He walked up the stairs and to the bedroom. He opened the door and turned on the light, pausing at the empty side of the room. He examined the room. (Y/n)'s things were gone. The nightstand and closet were devoid of her things. Laid out on the bed was the locket he gifted her.

He tried calling her, only to get sent straight to voice mail. He then tried to text and email her, which led to nothing. So, he called each of her friends, but not even they knew where she went. He went to her favorite places and yet, he still couldn't find her. He went home.

The silence inside the house felt heavy. Without her, the house felt more dead than alive to him.

He could only hope that she was safe.

9 1/2 months later...

Your Pov:

I quietly walked through the grassy lawn. The house was dark and imposing. The once lively plants on the windowsills were now dead. A small cry knocked me out of my thoughts. I looked down to my right hand and smiled softly.

I held a small carrier. I stopped at the front door. I placed the carrier in front of the door. I kneeled down and gently pushed the blanket down some.  The sleeping baby's face greeted me. It was my little girl. My little Franziska. I pulled the note out of my pocket and placed it on top of the blanket. I knocked on the door, and just then, Franziska began to cry. A light turned on upstairs. I rushed away and hid behind some bushes. After a few minutes, the front door opened.

I watched as he peered outside, looking down at the carrier. He picked up the note and read it. He looked around before picking up the carrier. He turned and headed back inside. I smiled and turned to leave. Suddenly, a flashlight beam shown over my head. I tensed. I forgot about the security guards. I was able to sneak in, but it would be hard to leave. I stepped back, my foot snapping a branch. Footsteps came close to my hiding spot.

Then, a light was put in my face. My arm was gripped and I was pulled up. Two guards stood there. The only gripping my arm spoke to the other, "Take her to Mr. Von Karma. He'll decide what to do with her." The guard dragged me into the house and up a flight of stairs before stopping at a door. He knocked and I heard a baby's cry from within. He spoke, "Mr. Von Karma, we found a trespasser."

A voice I hadn't heard in many months responded, "Bring them in and go." The guard opened the door and brought me inside before leaving. I stood silently, watching how he held Franziska with such gentleness. He spoke, "I do not take trespassing lightly-" He looked up, pausing. I looked to the floor. He spoke, "Where have you been? You left me without anything, without a clue as to where you were! And then, you leave a child on my doorstep." I bit my lip.

"I needed to leave. My job treated me like garbage, I thought you were going to leave me, and on top of all of that, I found out that I was pregnant. I didn't want to be a burden, so I left." He sighed and stood, carrying Franziska in his arms, "You were never a burden. None of this takes away from how I see you." He handed Franziska to me, "What is her name?" I smiled, "Franziska. Franziska Von Karma." He gently hugged us, "Please stay. I've missed you. Once you left, I never stopped searching for you."

I smiled, leaning into his embrace, "I will stay. At least now, we can be a family together..."
