Your Pov:
Today was another rough day. The Serge (sergeant) yelled at us all day long. I was also stuck on firewood duty with Justice. He wasn't even here yet and the sun was going to set soon. I picked up an ax and started chopping the firewood. Luckily, the uniform jacket protected me from any unwanted splinters. After about 10 minutes, I paused to wipe some sweat from my face. Then, there were footsteps behind me. I turned to see Justice approaching.
I decided to ignore him. I continued chopping the logs. I could hear Justice chopping next to me. A few seconds later, one of the log halves from his side hit me hard in the calf, making my leg buckle slightly. I turned to him, "Can't keep to your own side, Justice?" He scoffed, "Can't handle a piece of wood to the leg (L/n)?" I clenched my fists, "Your big mouth is going to get you in trouble soon." He rolled his eyes, "You're just asking for a fight."
Then, that's when the fight started.
We were rolling in the dirt, that was, until the sergeant came and yelled at us, "(L/n)! Justice! Break it up!" We stood bolt upright. He spoke, "If this happens again, it'll be mess hall duty for you!" We saluted, "Yes sir!" Then, he walked off. After that, we all headed to our bunks for the night.
The next morning we were up bright and early, doing some training exercises. We were doing some practice driving in the trucks. I had zoned out until the truck hit a bump in the path. The driver lost control and the truck started to deviate towards an incline. The truck rolled a few times before stopping. The other three in the truck got out just fine. I went to move but stopped when I felt sharp pains in my arm and ribs.
I called out, "I think my arm and some of my ribs are broken!" The three of them helped me out of the truck and it was a bit painful. I looked at them, "What happened?" One of them spoke, "We hit a bump in the road too quickly because the truck behind us hit the back end. They also crashed."
They helped me up the incline, where another crash scene was. Three of them stood outside the truck. They turned to us, "How many injured?" I spoke, "One. And you?" They spoke, "One. He's still inside. We're in the process of removing him from the truck." After a few minutes, they pulled a familiar man out.
It was Justice.
After that, they took us to the infirmary. My arm and two ribs were broken from the impact. Justice's leg and hand were broken too. The nurses didn't have the proper equipment so we were sent to a small village where we had to stay until we were fully healed and in good health.
Unfortunately, they put us in the same room. I sat up from the bed, looking out the window. My ribs and arm still hurt a bit, but not by much. Justice spoke up, "I don't think you should be up." I rolled my eyes, "Mind your own business, Justice." I stood up, slipping on a white tank top. I opened the door and stepped outside. Women were doing chores and watching their children while the men were in a political meeting. Just then, a little girl fell as she ran in front of me.
I kneeled, trying not to hurt my ribs. I gently sat her up, checking her knees. Luckily, they were barely bleeding. I managed to find two bandaids in my pants pockets. I put them onto her knees and helped her stand, "There you go. Be careful." She smiled.
"I will! Thank you!" With that, she followed after her friends. I walked around the village more and spotted Justice sitting under the shade in a wheelchair. I turned and noticed a few women struggling with a heavy water bucket. I walked over, "Excuse me, ladies. Do you need some help?"
They nodded and moved back. I picked up the bucket handle with one hand and carried the bucket to where they needed it. They thanked me and continued on with their chores.
To Apollo~
He sat under the tree, observing the village. He hated being confined to that little wheelchair. He watched as (Y/n) helped the little girl and the women. He tilted his head. (Y/n) was so mean to him, but he was so kind to these complete strangers. He began to think, 'Maybe, if he was that kind to me, I'd be more in lo-! What am I thinking?!' He sighed, still in his own thoughts, 'But, maybe we can find a way to see things eye to eye...'
