Alright, this will contain spoilers for the newest leak/chapter of the BNHA Manga, so do not read this if you don't want to get spoiled.

So, it got revealed that Dabi is in fact Touya Todoroki. We all knew this from the first time we saw him, but it still hit most of us like a bus when it was announced. We're not even going to get into the whole 'Dabi never showers, uses ash to color his hair, and he smells' thing.

The chapter made me sad and mad.

Here's why:

So, people are saying that Dabi most likely bears some kind of resentment/hatred towards Shoto. They say this because Dabi apparently tried to kill Shoto when Shoto was younger. I have looked this up to confirm and nothing has come up. I did however find (in the manga itself) Dabi stating that he would've killed Shoto when Shoto was at his highest. Meaning, when he became a pro hero.

I feel like Dabi does have some resentment for Shoto because when Shoto was born, Touya and the rest of his siblings became meaningless. Shoto was everything Touya wanted to be to their father, but Endeavor casted Touya aside because he thought he was too weak.

And Endeavor, don't even get me started! He treated his kids and his wife like guinea pigs for his own selfish desires. He severely abused Rei until she snapped and burned Shoto, leaving him severely traumatized. He neglected his kids and separated Shoto from his siblings, causing him to be distant and socially absent for most of his childhood. Endeavor is an abuser and a manipulator.

He speaks to Natsuo after rescuing him and tells him this:

"...But all I could do was blame others and dodge responsibility. With Touya too...I might as well have killed him myself!"

They tried to give Endeavor a redemption arc, but I don't think he deserved it. He treated his family like trash, dropped a small apology, and that was it. I have experience with people like this. For example, it's like trying to be around someone who owes you money. You sit there and you keep thinking about how they owe you and how much they owe you. With abuse and neglect, you're there feeling all different types of ways about how they owe you for all the trauma and hurt they gave you. And how you can never forgive them.

I think that both Dabi and Shoto feel this way, but more so with Dabi. Dabi hates everything about Endeavor and wants nothing more than to see his career burn to ashes because Endeavor did the same to their family. He ruined them all.

Now, I'm not saying that Dabi is completely off the hook. He's not the only person who's ever been hurt or abandoned. When he does his reveal, he states that he has killed 30 innocent people in all the time that he has been a villain. Now, we don't know how old Dabi was when he became a villain but I would guess anywhere from 15 to maybe 18. And people usually put Dabi currently, in his early twenties. So if we say he became a villain at for example, 15, and he is currently (estimate) 24 (Since Natsuo is 22 and Dabi is the oldest), that means in 9 years, he killed 30 people and vice versa with the other examples.

From a villain, I'd think you'd expect that number to be in the hundreds, maybe thousands. Now, yes, he still killed innocent people, but some people are acting like he said he killed 30 people in the span of two days. Rei is also seeing the broadcast and hears this before the nurses can turn her tv off.

Now, answer me this: if you were offered Dabi redemption arc or Endeavor redemption arc 2, which one are you taking?

I'm not saying that Dabi's redemption is happily ever after. I see it as Endeavor finally getting his karma, a rehabilitation for Dabi, and Natsuo and Rei finally reuniting with him. Dabi would stay in rehabilitation like Rei stayed at the hospital. And maybe, just maybe, Shoto and Dabi will talk to each other. For Dabi's redemption, forgiveness isn't just put out there. It takes time to heal after all.

And it could just be Dabi in rehab this chapter, wait for a while, someone visits him chapters away (Natsuo, Rei, or Shoto), they all say their peace some more chapters later, and the arc is over. Maybe we won't see Dabi after that, but at least we'd know that none of them are hurting quite as badly anymore.

Also, can I just say, Dabi's dancing killed me! I keep seeing the memes all over Till Tok and I'm dying!
