This is volume 2 to my first Ace Attorney One Shots Book!
If you haven't read that book yet, you should go read it because certain chapters will not make sense if you don't!
Thank you!
A/N: This a trial run Blackquill one shot! I hope it's good. In this one, the reader works in Shipshape Aquarium with Orla the orca.
Your Pov:
I sat on the edge of the pool, trying to calm Orla. She was sensing my nervousness from Captain Shipley's murder. Today was the day of her trial. Luckily, they didn't call me to testify. Since we had time, and I was still in my stage outfit, I slipped into the pool with Orla.

I played as a mermaid in the show and sometimes performed for the visitors in a separate tank. I smiled, "Come on, Orla!" We swam around together in the pool for a while. Then, I heard a click, signaling the court's video conference call. I looked up at the screen. I spotted Orla's attorneys and the prosecutor. When I saw him, I completely froze up. He was...
Captivating.
The judge spoke, "Who is that woman in the pool with the defendant?" Mr. Wright spoke, "That is (Y/n) (L/n). Orla's other trainer and aquarium performer. She plays a mermaid." I swam towards the edge of the pool. I put my arms on the lip and Orla helped me the rest of the way. I sat on the lip, my costume probably looking weird to them. The prosecutor was staring at me. Then, he snapped out of it as the judge spoke, "Now then..."
Through out the trial, my gaze wandered back to the strange prosecutor. Then, the judge spoke to him, "Prosecutor Blackquill, are you saying that the defendant is just that dangerous? Both trainers seem to be unharmed." The prosecutor, now leaning against the desk, faced the judge, "Hmph. The victim himself was a performer for the show."
He gestured to the video conference screen, "This woman...is both a trainer and a performer. Perhaps she may give us an answer...by swimming with the defendant?" I quickly spoke up, "I don't mind, your honor. Just leave it to me." The judge nodded, "Let's get to it then." I got back into the pool, swimming with Orla.
I sang as I did. Orla loved the sound and would sing back. Over the video call, I could hear the people in the gallery whispering amongst each other. Sometimes, I played a good mermaid. Other times, I played a siren. At the end of the song, I got out of the pool. Mr. Wright quickly spoke, "See your honor? Orla is not dangerous. She didn't harm Ms. (L/n) even when she headbutted her." Orla had gently headbutted me during our swim session.
The judge hummed, "Yes. I see. Based on the evidence and what I just saw, I am ready to announce my verdict." He gave a not guilty verdict. But then, the prosecutor spoke up, "Your baldness, we are not finished here. I indict Sasha Buckler of the murder." After that, they arrested Sasha. Orla became a little depressed. Mr. Wright and Athena came back to investigate. Since they had to drain the pool, I moved out to the performance pool.
I practiced my routine while Marlon spoke to Mr. Wright and Athena. After a few minutes, I propped myself up on a nearby rock. Then, I heard footsteps. I turned to see the prosecutor. He spoke to the three of them. I watched him silently. Athena snapped at him, "(Y/n) won't testify against Sasha! She knows she's innocent!" The prosecutor looked at me as he spoke to her, "Even the most beautiful creature can sing the ugliest song." I spoke, "But very few can catch a mermaid. Can you?"
He let out a sharp whistle and the hawk on his shoulder swooped towards me. I wasn't scared, but more curious. The hawk took the sea shell from my hair and took it to him.

He petted the bird before looking back at me, "As long as evidence proves the existence, I have no need to. I'll just show this to Ms. Buckler." I dived off the rock and swam to the land. Marlon helped me out. I spoke.
"Fine. I'll go." He smirked slightly, "Then let's go. I have no need for senseless jabbering."
In a strange way, he captivated me. Like he was the siren and I was the unsuspecting sailor...
A/N: Ok, so, I finished the DLC case and now I'm doing case 3. If I'm being honest, I may have cried a little towards the end of the DLC case. But anyways, in this case, I know there's one or two certain characters I will meet. I've already met the first and I got very excited.
The DLC case confused me a lot in the beginning and middle. That's when I was like 'It's the doctor! The doctor did it.' because the game gave us all the red flags needed to think that. I can't say the doctor is downright creepy, because that would be a lie, but he still weirded me out a little.
Now, someone noticed that I wrote a chapter where I specifically mentioned Clay by his name. However, I have not seen the case with him in it! At least no one dropped any spoilers in the comments. But, in this chapter, do not spoil any cases to do with BLACKQUILL, FULBRIGHT, CLAY, OR JUNIPER!
I want to be able to experience everything completely blind.
You can express your opinion of cases 1, 2 and the DLC, but do not spoil anything else.
