A/N: This is post Investigations 2!

No One's Pov:

The courthouse was filled with endless chatter from the various judges, prosecutors, and defense attorneys.

An exciting trial was due to begin soon.

Prosecutor Sebastian Debeste versus Defense Attorney (Y/n) (L/n).

The latter had more experience, which weighed the trial heavily in her favor.

Anxious on-lookers crowded into the courtroom to take their places in the gallery. Sebastian stood at the prosecutor's bench, a slightly nervous look on his face.

Edgeworth watched carefully from the gallery. He had taught Sebastian what he could to prepare him, so the rest of it was left up to Sebastian.

Then, the defense attorney entered the room.

...

Your Pov:

I took my spot at the bench and dusted off my clothes.

As the judge entered, I looked across and saw the prosecutor on the case. He was looking back at me with a slight blush on his face. I decided to tease him a bit and winked as I blew a kiss. His blush darkened.

The judge spoke. "Court is now in session. Is the defense ready?" I nodded. "The defense is ready, Your Honor." The judge nodded and turned to the prosecutor. "Is the prosecution ready?" There was silence.

He was still looking at me. The judge banged his gavel. "Prosecutor Debeste! Are you ready or not?" I quietly giggled as he jumped and nodded. "Y-Yes, Your Honor!" The judge sighed. "Then your opening statement, please."

...

The trial was progressing smoothly. And at this rate, I'd have an easy win. As the judge went to call his verdict, a voice rang out, echoing in the room.

"Objection!"

I looked across to see Sebastian objecting. The judge looked at him. "Yes, Prosecutor Debeste? Is there something you want to say?" He nodded and looked at me.

"You might be the prettiest flower in the bunch, but you can't hide the ugly weeds in your evidence!"

My eyes widened. "W-What?!" He presented one of the pieces of evidence. "I-I mean...this knife!" The judge rose a brow. "What about it?" Sebastian continued. "The defense has not yet proven that the defendant had no access to the murder weapon. Until then, you can't declare a verdict, Your Honor!"

Murmurs filled the courtroom as the judge banged his gavel. "Yes, I see. In light of this, we will take a 30 minute recess. And when we return, I expect the defense to have an answer."

I nodded. "Yes, Your Honor."

As I turned to leave, I looked at Sebastian.

"Maybe next time...we can meet under different circumstances."

With that, I walked out of the courtroom. I could feel his eyes following me, but I didn't turn around.

...

As I entered the lobby, I saw a familiar face. I smiled. "Mr. Edgeworth, to what do I owe the pleasure?" His eyes narrowed. "I don't know what game you're playing at, but it's not amusing."

I rose a brow. "And? It's not my problem if he can't concentrate on the trial."

He huffed. "The courtroom is not the place for games." I tilted my head, smiling. "I never said it was. A little harmless teasing never hurt anyone, Mr. Edgeworth."

With that, I turned and headed towards one of the chairs. As I did, I bumped into someone. My organizer fell from my hands, causing the papers and evidence inside to scatter. I quickly bent down to pick them up. "I'm sorry about that! I wasn't looking where-"

A familiar voice cut me off. "Falling for me already?" Sebastian kneeled down next to me and helped me gather my papers. I giggled. "In your dreams, Sebastian." As I reached for the last paper, I felt a hand on top of mine. Sebastian and I quickly pulled our hands back and stood.

I cleared my throat. "Thanks for helping me." He nodded. "Y-Yeah. No problem." Then the moment was ruined by Mr. Edgeworth's voice.

"Sebastian, come. We have much to discuss about the trial. You're wasting time flirting with the defense. You can daydream about her later."

Sebastian jumped. "Y-Yes, sir!" I watched as Sebastian walked off with Mr. Edgeworth. Just before he was completely out the door, Sebastian looked back at me. With a slight blush on my face, I blew him one last kiss.

His face turned as red as a tomato.

And my heart beat a little faster...
