I walked into the office, expecting to hear the familiar utter chaos, but there was only silence. I looked around the office. It was actually clean for once. Trucy was doing homework while Apollo sat across from her reading a file. I spoke up, "What...happened?" Apollo looked up, "Prosecutor Blackquill's here. Mr. Wright made us all clean."

I had heard of Prosecutor Blackquill before, but I'd never met him. Though, I was pretty sure that he was her mate by the way she spoke about him. I nodded, "Visiting Athena? His mate I assume?" Apollo shook his head, "They're just very close. But not mates." Just then, the door to Mr. Wright's private office opened. He stepped out with presumably Prosecutor Blackquill next to him.

A powerful scent hit my nose. It smelt like a pine forest, mixed with cherry blossoms and strawberries. Prosecutor Blackquill stared at me, his nose slightly crinkling as he sniffed. Mr. Wright, Apollo, and Trucy watched us silently. Prosecutor Blackquill muttered under his breath quietly, "Mate..." Athena, who was coming out of the office behind him, looked at me, "(Y/n), you finally found him!" I shook my head, "No! I can't!"

I turned and rushed out of the office, ignoring the calls of my friends behind me. I headed into the woods behind the office. I went behind a tree and checked for my extra clothes before shifting. I ran through the woods quickly after hearing someone enter the tree line. After a few minutes, I stopped in front of a small pond. I lapped up some on the water and laid down. My ears perked up as something passed overhead.

I looked up, seeing a hawk circling. I tensed. Prosecutor Blackquill had a hawk, but the one overhead couldn't possibly be his. Suddenly, a black and white blur jumped onto me. We rolled, but came to a stop quickly. I looked up to see a black wolf with some white hair on the left above it's eye. I sniffed the air. It was Blackquill.  I struggled under him, determined to get away. But he rested his weight on me, making me stop moving.

He dropped something next to me. It was my clothes. He pointed to his hawk with his muzzle before moving off me. I growled and moved behind a tree to shift back. I thought about running again, but that hawk would just keep leading him. I shifted back and redressed, making myself look presentable. I stepped back out. Luckily, Blackquill had shifted back and redressed as well. I crossed my arms, "Why'd you follow me?"

He looked at me, "Why'd you run off?" I huffed, "To get away from you." A flicker of hurt flashed through his eyes, though his face portrayed nothing but blankness. He stepped closer, "Care to explain your anger?" A tear rolled down my cheek, "Fine. I don't trust men. My dad beat me after my mom died. And one night, he almost killed me. There. Happy?!"

He extended his arms towards me. I flinched. Then, he embraced me, "I know I cannot erase your past, but, I can make a future for us." I looked up at him, "I...I'd like that..."

After that, we headed back to the office. Athena immediately ran up to me, "I'm sorry (Y/n)! I didn't know!" I smiled, "It's alright Thena." Everyone in the office congratulated us and Athena was already planning the wedding. I just shook my head.

At least I have someone to depend on now...
