They Find Out You Smoke

Phoenix:

The office was completely empty today. Apollo was out at court and Trucy was doing one of her shows. Phoenix was in his personal office. I licked my lips, feeling the urge to light a cigarette. Before I had met Phoenix, I smoked a lot. After we got together, I smoked less, but hid it from him. I looked towards his office door.

It was closed. I stood up quietly and grabbed my purse. I pulled out my pack of cigarettes and my lighter. I grabbed one out of the pack before putting the box back in my purse. I went to one of the windows and swiftly opened it. I lit the cigarette and put it to my lips. I took a couple puffs, blowing the smoke out the window. I paused when I heard the office door open behind me.

I heard Phoenix speak, "(Y/n), what are you doing? Why is the window open?" He sniffed the air. I tensed as he turned me around. His eyes widened, "Y-You're smoking..." I looked to the ground, tossing the cigarette out the window. Phoenix spoke up, "Why? Why do this to me? To those two kids? To yourself?"

I bit my lip, "I...I didn't want to tell you. I used to smoke a lot more before I met you. I slowed down once we became a couple. I was too embarrassed to tell you. I'm sorry." He wrapped his arms around me and hugged me, "I'll help you quit. I don't want you to leave me too. I love you." I hugged him back, "I love you too. Thank you, Phoenix."

Edgeworth:

It was the end of my shift as I walked out of the prosecutor's office. Miles wouldn't be off for another hour or so. I went to my car and unlocked the doors. I reached inside the glove box and grabbed my cigarette pack. I took a cigarette out before putting the rest of the pack back in the car. I lit the cigarette and put it to my lips. I took a few puffs, the nicotine filling my body. Smoking was my stress reliever. After a few minutes, I tossed the butt of the cigarette on the ground and burned it out with my foot.

I got into the car and headed home. Once there, I walked up the steps and opened the front door. I stepped inside and shut it behind me. The house was silent, indicating that Miles wasn't home at the moment. I dropped my stuff on the table and headed out to the backyard. I lit up another cigarette as I sat on the porch swing. I took a puff, inhaling and then exhaling. I was so caught up in smoking that I didn't hear the back door open. I heard Miles' voice.

"What the hell are you doing?" I jumped, tossing the cigarette into the ash tray, "Nothing." He scoffed, "Clearly. Why are you smoking those...things at our house?!" I gulped, "Today was stressful. I smoke when I'm stressed." He pinched the bridge of his nose, "I'm giving you an ultimatum: either you quit smoking or you can get your things and leave."

I sighed, "Fine. Here." I handed him my box of cigarettes. He broke each one in half and soaked them in water. He turned to me, "I'm glad you made the right choice." I nodded, "Me too."

Apollo:

I sat in my car, waiting for Apollo. We were going on a date to the fair. Apollo was taking a while, so I decided to sneak a quick smoke in. I rolled down the windows slightly so that the smoke wouldn't stay in the car. I lit the cigarette and put it to my lips. I took a long drag, feeling the nicotine fill my lungs. Suddenly, the car door opened and Apollo got in, "Sorry I took so-" I quickly threw the cigarette out the window, hoping that he didn't see it. He spoke, "Why?"

I bit my lip, "Why what?" He looked at me, "Why are you smoking? You know how I am about that." I sighed, "I know, but it's hard to just stop." He shook his head, "I'm here to help you. And I think the first step is getting rid of those things all together." I handed him my pack and he threw it out the window. I smiled, "Thank you, Apollo. For helping me to stop doing this."

He simply smiled, "Just remember, I'm here to help you, not scold you."

Klavier:

I started smoking after I got together with Klavier. This was because of the curse called 'peer pressure'. Daryan offered me a cigarette and then teased me about being a prude for not wanting to smoke one. I broke under the pressure and smoked one. Everytime I was offered a cigarette after that, I would take it as long as I wasn't around Klavier. He couldn't know at all.

I sat backstage while the band did a soundcheck. Daryan left his pack on the table next to me, offering me one before going to the stage. I looked to the stage, noticing they were still busy. I opened the pack, pulling one out and lighting it. I quickly puffed it, the anxiety of being caught filling my mind. Just then, a voice interrupted me, "Fraulein, what are you doing?" I dropped the cigarette into the ash tray, coughing slightly, "N-Nothing!"

He frowned, "Who gave you those? Because I know you didn't buy those." I bit my lip, "D-Daryan did, but it's alright. I'm not addicted or anything!" He sighed, "Well how long is it going to take before you do?" Just then, Daryan walked in, "You're getting on her for that? She's her own person you know." Klavier turned to him, "I can't believe you Daryan. You know I can't stand when you do it, but making (Y/n) do it is taking it too far."

Daryan scoffed, "Whatever man." Daryan turned and walked away. Klavier turned back to me, "If he or anyone else tries to force you to do something like smoke or whatever, come tell me. I don't want you to do something that will damage your body." I nodded, "Ok. I didn't really like it anyways. I love you."

"I love you too Fraulein."
