Alpha (Shi-Long Lang x Reader)

A/N: Wolf Shifter AU!

Your Pov:

I ran through the trees, my vision slightly blurred from unshed tears. I had been kicked out of my pack since I was apparently 'slowing them down'. I didn't have a very high position. I was only an omega. I also hadn't found my mate yet, so I was all alone. I had been running for miles, but I hadn't found any other packs.

That was both a blessing and a curse.

A blessing because I wouldn't have to worry about getting attacked. And a curse because I might starve since my hunting skills are not the best.

I paused right in front of another tree line. Different scents wafted around. This land belonged to a pack. One that I knew very well.

The House of Lang.

I contemplated stepping into their land. I could possibly get attacked, but I was starving and needed water and rest. I posed no threat to them, but would they get that? I pushed my worries aside and stepped through the tree line. My paws thudded on the ground as I walked through the forest. I listened for any noises, but heard nothing. After a few more minutes, I heard noises ahead of me.

I stopped and hid in a nearby bush. A few seconds later, a few black furred wolves stepped into view. They seemed to be communicating via mind link as they sniffed around. They were looking for me.

Soon enough, they left. I continued walking, weary of other noises. Suddenly, I felt teeth clamp on my scruff. I yelped as I was yanked back. A sharp pain in my head as they connected me to their mind link. Two of the black wolves stood in front of me. One of them spoke through the link, 'Why are you here?' I wanted to stay silent, but the grip on my scruff made me talk, 'Just passing through.'

One of them growled, 'Take her to Shifu.' They surrounded me, leading me to a large pack house. All the wolves living around the area seemed so happy. Once inside, they shifted back and brought me some clothes. They gave me some privacy and I shifted back and got dressed. I tried to fix my hair before stepping out of the room. The four men took me to a large staircase leading up to another floor. We waited as one of the men headed upstairs. I bowed my head.

I was probably going to die.

Suddenly, a scent hit my nose. It was like nothing I had ever smelt before. It was the smell of pine mixed with cinnamon, and fresh rain. I looked up, locking eyes with a man at the top of the stairs. That's when I realized it.

He was Alpha Shi-Long Lang.

I bowed my head again. I heard his voice, "Clear out. All of you. I want to speak with her alone." They saluted him, "Yes Shifu!" Then, it was just us. I kept my head down as he walked down the stairs. He stopped in front of me. I felt his hand on my chin as he lifted my head. I looked at him. He smirked, "What business do you have on my land?" I shifted my gaze.

"I was kicked out of my pack. I was trying to find food and shelter..." He hummed, "Why did they kick you out?" I sighed, "I was slowing them down, or so they said. And my hunting skills are lacking." He chuckled, "Well, you're welcome to reside with us. I'm not just going to let my mate slip through my fingers." I jumped slightly and blushed, "O-Of course. Thank you..." He let go of my chin, "Just call me Shi." I smiled slightly, "I'm (Y/n)."

He grabbed my hand, "Let's go introduce you to the rest of the pack."

A few minutes later, the rest of the pack had gathered in front of the pack house. Shi spoke, "Today, a new member of the pack will be joining us." They all cheered, then went quiet again. He continued, gesturing to me "This is (Y/n). She is to be treated as one of us. And, in other news, she is to be your Luna." They all cheered again as they began to chant, "Shi-mu!"

(Shi-mu is used to refer to a male teacher’s wife. I tried to find the female equivalent of Shifu, but this is what I found.)

They quieted down as he spoke, "She is to be treated with the utmost respect. Anyone who does not will feel my disciplinary bite." He stomped his foot and leaned forward, "Understood?" Everyone responded, "Yes Shifu!" He stood straight, "Good. Dismissed!" Then, everyone dispersed. After that, he led me back to the pack house and up to a bedroom, "You can rest and get comfortable. I'll be down the hall if you need me." I smiled, "Ok. Thanks."

I rested for a bit before heading outside. Everyone I passed would smile or wave. Once I hit the treeline, I shifted. I walked through the trees and relaxed. The hierarchy seemed so different. It was there, but no one was unequal. I paused my thoughts when I heard a whimper from a nearby bush.  I moved the branches aside with my muzzle to see a pup laying in the dirt.

I touched around it's joints with my nose to see if it had shifted before. The joints were loose confirming that the pup had shifted before. I checked it's gender to find out that it was a boy. Then I noticed the claw mark on his side. Three large gashes were openly bleeding. I gently picked him up by the scruff and carried him back towards the pack. Some of his blood smeared on my fur as I walked.

I stepped out of the treeline and a black wolf rushed over to me. He spoke over the link, 'Shi-mu! Are alright?' I looked at him, 'Take me to a medic and alert your alpha.' He did as he was told. As soon as I got to the medic, I placed the pup on a cot and shifted back, changing into some clothes the medic had. The medic cleaned and stitched up the wounds before turning to me, "He will be fine Shi-mu. I also gave him a medicine to help him shift back." I nodded.

"Thank you." Suddenly, Shi burst through the door, "(Y/n)! Are you alright?" I looked at him, "I'm fine. But, I couldn't let that pup die." He looked to the cot, "Poor pup. Probably attacked by his alpha. Despicable." I spoke, "The medic said he'll shift back easier with the medicine she gave him." He grabbed my hand, "Come on, let's get some rest. We can check on him tomorrow." I sighed, "Alright."

With that, we headed back to the pack house and fell asleep peacefully in each other's arms.
