Open Arms (Klavier x Reader)

Your Pov:

I sat on the sofa, watching some series on Netflix I'd seen hundreds of times already. Klavier was at work, so I was alone. I sighed and laid down before falling asleep. I woke up a few hours later to the front door opening and closing, along with the sound of something thudding against the wall. Klavier walked into the living room. He looked irritated and upset. His hair was a bit frazzled and his clothes were somewhat wrinkled. I spoke.

"Welcome home. You look upset. What's wrong?" He looked at me, "Oh, it's nothing, (Y/n). A couple of people just said some uncalled for things." I tilted my head, "What did they say?" He looked away, "It's nothing. Just drop it." I shook my head, "No. It's obviously affecting you." He sat on the couch next to me and slumped, "I bumped into some guys on the way back from an investigation. They called the Gavineers a gay band with gay music. Then, they called me a faggot and said I probably did questionable things to be a prosecutor." I let him continue.

"Of course, I laughed in their faces and made them eat the dust from my motorcycle as I drove off, but, you know..." I bit my lip, "Well, you shouldn't listen to them. You know the truth. You know your band. You know yourself. I didn't want to tell you, but your fans have been sending me hate, calling me your 'beard'. But I just ignore them, because it's not true."

(A/N: I don't condone this kind of harassment to anyone of any gender, race, sexuality, etc. Everyone is human and everyone is different. Also, a 'beard' is when a person goes on date or is in a relationship with a person of the opposite sex to hide their sexuality from people.)

I had him lay down with his head on my lap. I unraveled his hair from it's cone and ran my fingers through it. I opened my mouth and started to sing.

"Who says, who says you're not perfect? Who says you're not worth it?
Who says you're the only one that's hurtin'? Trust me, that's the price of beauty. Who says you're not pretty?
Who says you're not beautiful? Who says?"

A slight smile began to appear on his face, "I love your voice (Y/n)." I smiled and continued, "It's such a funny thing
how nothing's funny when it's you? You tell 'em what you mean, but they keep whiting out the truth. It's like a work of art that never gets to see the light. Keep you beneath the stars, won't let you touch the sky."

His eyes started to close. I grabbed a nearby blanket and covered the both of us with it. I continued to stroke his hair and sing softly to him.

"Who says you're not star potential?
Who says you're not presidential? Who says you can't be in movies?
Listen to me, listen to me. Who says you don't pass the test? Who says you can't be the best? Who said, who said?
Would you tell me who said that? Yeah, who said?"

I kissed his forehead, feeling myself getting sleepy. I leaned back against the sofa, my eyes closing.

"Who says?"
