Outfit Conundrum (Maximillion Galactica x Performer! Reader)

Your Pov:

Outside the dressing rooms, numerous circus acts went on. Today was a busy day for the Berry Big Circus. I was getting ready for my own performance. I was a silk dancer and the second to last performance. Max was the grand finale. I sorted through my costumes, grabbing one and slipping it on. I did my make up.

Just then, Max walked into the room. I spoke, "I should be up soon. I should get moving." He looked at me, doing a double take, "No. No way. Change. You are not performing in that." I crossed my arms, "I am a grown adult. I can wear what I want." He sighed, "You may be as grown as a hog nursing six piglets, but I still care about you."

I frowned, "I have to perform soon. I don't have time-" He shushed me, "You have a whole 30 minutes. Now go and change." I narrowed my eyes, "The silks are going to be covering my midsection. And more clothing equals less grip which results in free fall accidents." He huffed.

"I will find you another costume. How about..." He looked through the rack before pulling out another costume.

"This?" He continued, "It's a nice color. It's showy, but classy. It complements your shape." I grabbed the costume, "Fine." I went to the dressing stall and put it on. It was good enough. I walked out of the stall and looked at Max, crossing my arms, "Happy now?" He nodded.

"Very. Now, you have 10 minutes before showtime. Better get moving." I nodded, "I will." I stopped behind the big top's main curtain and waited. After a while, I went out and performed. The crowd loved it.

I bowed and went back to the dressing room. Max was out performing, so it was empty. I went to my vanity and sat down. That's when I noticed the lone white rose on the table. Attached to it was a small card.

It said 'Keep your chin up darling!'
