I jolted awake as a scream echoed in my ears. I sat up, looking at my boyfriend sleeping next to me. Sebastian was twisting and writhing in his sleep. He whimpered, then screamed again. I gently shook him, "Sebastian! Sebastian..." He awoke slowly, "H-Huh? (Y/n)...?" He shot up, tears running down his cheeks. I held him, "I'm right here, darling. Shh..." He stuttered through his tears, "My p-pops...h-he...I..." I sighed.

"Do you want to talk about it?" He spoke, "P-Pops hit me..." I looked at him, "In your dream?" He shook his head, "I-In real life (Y/n)..." I froze, "S-Sebastian...no..." He nodded, "I-It's true. He hit me...if I wasn't the best. In my dream, he took me back home to 'play with me'. It felt so real..." I felt tears welling up in my eyes, "He can't hurt or belittle you anymore. I love you so, so much." Sebastian slowly fell back asleep without much trouble.

I woke up the next morning as Sebastian got ready for work. He stood at the vanity, staring in the mirror. His torso was bare. His milky, pale skin was was dotted with scars and faint bruises. He was sniffling. I got up from bed and approached him. I wrapped my arms around him, "Don't cry darling. I know you're hurting, but I'm here."

He closed his eyes.

I started to hum quietly.

"You're alone, you're on your own, so what? Have you gone blind? Have you forgotten what you have and what is yours? Glass half empty, glass half full. Well either way you won't be going thirsty. Count your blessings not your flaws..."

Sebastian leaned back into me slightly. He was trembling. I started to run a hand through his hair.

"You've got it all. You lost your mind in the sound. There's so much more. You can reclaim your crown. You're in control. Rid of the monsters inside your head. Put all your faults to bed. You can be king again..."

Sebastian mumbled, "Can I really though?" I hugged him tighter. His trembling had increased.

"You don't get what all this is about  You're too wrapped up in your self doubt  You've got that young blood, set it free. You've got it all. You lost your mind in the sound. There's so much more. You can reclaim your crown. You're in control. Rid of the monsters inside your head. Put all your faults to bed. You can be king."

Sebastian didn't deserve to be treated as badly as he was. He was innocent. His shaking had started to slow.

"There's method in my madness. There's no logic in your sadness. You don't gain a single thing from misery. Take it from me."

I finished the song. Sebastian smiled, "I love you (Y/n)..." I kissed his cheek, "I love you too Sebastian. Now, let's make the most of today." He nodded, "Yeah! I'm culpable!" I smiled, "Capable. Sebastian." He blushed, "Oh, yeah. Capable." He got dressed the rest of the way and we enjoyed breakfast before heading to the office.

Outside the building, I kissed him, "Have a good day. I know you can do it." He held his baton, "I can do it. I can be the best...as long as I have you." I blushed, "Ok, ok. You should hurry. You're going to be late." He jumped, "Oh yeah! I'll see you in a few hours. I love you." Then, he rushed into the office. I smiled.

No matter what, I'll keep loving him...
