New Life (Apollo x Reader)

Your Pov:

I sat in the Wright And Co. Law Office waiting for them to return. I sighed, putting a hand on my stomach, "I'm sorry your father couldn't be here to see you..." 30 minutes later, they came back, large smiles on their faces. I spoke, "Apollo...did you...?" He nodded, "We caught the killer. It's over." Tears rolled down my cheeks, "T-Thank you..." He hugged me, "Don't thank me. I couldn't let Clay's death be in vain. And we both needed closure. Clay loved you to the moon and back." I nodded, "I know."

I continued, "But he left someone else behind. I'm sure he's been watching over us though." Apollo tilted his head, "Left behind? What do you mean?" I placed a hand on my stomach. Apollo gasped, "N-No way?" I nodded, "That's why...I have a favor to ask of you." He looked at me, "What is it?" I bit my lip, "Be a father figure to this child." He jumped, "Me?"

He continued, "W-Well, I also have something to confess..." He paused, "... I've been in love with you. I never told you because you seemed so happy with Clay." I blushed, "I...I think I love you too." He smiled, "Then, let's raise this little one like Clay would've wanted us to."

A month later, I was living with Apollo in his apartment. We moved all my stuff in, but put Clay's things in storage. When I moved in, Apollo gave me a gift. I nearly cried when I saw it. It was a rectangular glass plaque. It had a full moon engraved along with a constellation of stars next to the moon. Below the stars, a message was engraved.

'Don't worry about darkness, for that is when the stars shine brightest'

Below that, Clay's name, birth date, and death date were inscribed in a futuristic font. Apollo showed me something interesting about the plaque. In a dark room, the moon, stars, and inscription glowed. I put it on my nightstand.

A few days later, Apollo and I were on the couch thinking of baby names since we just found out that the baby was a boy. I hummed, "What about Orion?" He smiled, "I like that one. What about the middle and last?" I tilted my head, "What about Orion Clay Justice?" He looked at me, "Y-You want to use my last name?" I nodded, "Yes. I know Clay would want it this way." He sighed, "I guess so. I can't help but miss him." I smiled sadly, "I know. I do too. But he wouldn't want us to feel sad." After that, we fell into silence.

Months passed and we made a nursery in the second room of Apollo's apartment. We made it space themed and bought decorations for it.

I was getting very close to my due date now. Apollo was very nervous and anxious, constantly asking me if I needed anything. Apollo had left to work this morning and now it was 2:00 in the afternoon. I was watching TV, but I wasn't really paying attention to it. Suddenly, I felt a wetness. My eyes widened. I grabbed my phone and called Apollo, but he didn't answer. I then called Athena.

Luckily, she answered, "Hello?" I spoke, "Athena! Is Apollo there?!" She spoke, "No. He's on an investigation. What's wrong?" I clenched my teeth together as a contraction hit me, "The baby is coming. Now!" Athena gasped, "Now? Ok, I'm on my way with Trucy. We'll be there soon!" Then, she hung up. After 10 minutes, they arrived. Athena helped me to the car while Trucy grabbed the bag.

The contractions got worse and worse as we got to the hospital. Athena helped me inside where they wheeled me off to a hospital room. Athena held my hand as I laid there while Trucy kept calling Apollo. After the 5th time he picked up. I could hear his shouting over the phone. Trucy spoke, "He's on his way. He already ran a red light and a stop sign."

Apollo came bursting in just as I was ready to push. The doctor and nurse had Athena and Trucy leave the room. Then, I started pushing. The delivery took almost 7 hours.

At 9:35 pm, Orion Clay Justice was born. He was a healthy weight and a happy baby. He had Clay's eyes, a delight to Apollo and myself.

And I'm pretty sure, wherever Clay is, he's watching over us and he's happy.
