Your Pov:
**17 years ago...**
I sat with Mia as we tried to calm a crying Maya. It wasn't working quite well since I was only 6 and Mia was 10. Mia stood up from her spot next to the crib. "I'm going to find Aunt Morgan." I nodded and watched her go in silence. Maya's cries rang out in the room.
Mother was gone. She had disappeared, just like father did.
I carefully picked up Maya and started to rock her. And somehow, after a few minutes, she fell asleep. I placed her back in the crib.
'I won't leave you Maya...'
**A few years later...Mia (17), you (13), Maya (9)**
I sat in the manor's training room, trying to finish my training for the day. I had shown a promising amount of spiritual power since I was 8 and everyone thought that I would succeed my mother. Mia had left to pursue a career in law, leaving Maya and I with Aunt Morgan.
I took care of Maya, homeschooling her and basically raising her all while training to secure my spot with the master's seat.
Aunt Morgan was expecting her own child, so she wasn't around much.
Just as I finished, the door burst open and Maya rushed in, tears in her eyes. "(Y/n)! Big sis!" I quickly rushed over to her. "What is it? What's wrong?" She sniffled and looked up at me. "I-I was playing in the winding way and I...I broke Mystic Ami's urn! I'm sorry!"
I sighed in relief. "Don't cry. It's alright. I'll fix it. Don't worry." She looked at me with teary eyes. "R-Really?" I ruffled her hair. "Mhm. You can always count on me."
And so, I spent the rest of my day putting the urn back together as Maya played in her room. But like I told her, she could always count on me.
**Present Time...Maya (19), you (24)...Trials And Tribulations Last Case**
I stood in the courtroom lobby, staring at the man in front of me. I couldn't see his eyes, but I knew that they would expose his pain if I could see them.
We were alone. Just him and I in the empty lobby. I sighed.
"You're in pain, aren't you? Because-!"
He turned to me, a frown on his face. "Trite...he was the one who knocked the first domino down. Then it snowballed out of control."
I shook my head. "No. You know who really caused all of this. Phoenix was someone dragged along for the ride, just like you." I continued. "Mia was my sister and I know that she wouldn't want you blaming Phoenix. She lives on through him whether you like it or not."
He sighed. "I just want to believe that Mia is happy. And that she doesn't...blame me for not being there. As sappy as that seems." I smiled. "Mia is happy and well. Even after her death, she still loved you. And even now, she loves you." He chuckled. "Thanks for the talk, kid. You should get back in there. After all, Maya's counting on you to be there for her."
I nodded. "I know. That's what family's supposed to do. Support you."
And I always did just that. From the time Maya was born, until now, I was always there to support her in whatever she did. Even now, I still push her to be the best she can be.
That's what sisters are for after all.
