I walked through the park, duffle bag in hand. I was going to practice at the studio today. I had an upcoming performance. As I walked down the path, I passed a boy sitting on a bench. I smiled and waved slightly at him. I turned my gaze back to the path. I heard footsteps behind me, but shrugged it off as the park was full of people. I got to the studio and went into the locker room.
I changed into a leotard and some tights, then put my hair into a bun. I walked into the studio and set my bag in the corner. I took out my pointe shoes and put my street clothes into the bag before zipping it back up. I played my music.
I moved gracefully across the floor, tuning everything out. Here, I felt at peace. The music faded as I hit my ending pose.
I jumped when I heard clapping and some cheering. I turned to see the same boy from the park leaning against the door frame. I blushed from embarrassment, "C-Can I help you?" He looked at me, "That was beautiful man." I blushed more.
"T-Thanks. What's your name? I'm (Y/n)." He spoke, "I'm Wocky Kitaki." I bit my lip, "Oh, you're the boy who was acquitted of that murder a few months ago, right?" He nodded, "You aren't scared of me? I mean, gangster here, you know?" I shrugged.
"If you were here for a malicious reason, like hurting me, you would've done it by now." He laughed, "You're smart too. I like that." I smiled. He continued, "Could you dance like that again?" And so, I spent the whole day in the studio with Wocky. In that time, we got to know each other very well. We met up almost everyday after that.
I soon started to fall in love with him. I kept quiet about it because I didn't want to make things awkward. I found out that Wocky had a talent for hip hop dancing. He was insanely good. He told me that he performed at his father's bakery, bringing in extra money. But he also told me that the bakery business was slowly failing and money was tight. That's when I came up with an idea.
I sat in the studio waiting for Wocky. About 10 minutes later, he arrived, "Hey (Y/n)! Sorry I'm late. My old man kept me back." I smiled, "It's fine." I continued, "But, I think I've found a way to bring customers to the bakery." He tilted his head, "How?" I spoke, "We combine our talents and perform together. We do our own individual dances and then do a final dance together. What do you think?"
He nodded, "Sounds good, (Y/n). Let's get to it!" We spent about a week, practicing and perfecting our dances. Then came the day for our dances.
We stood behind the curtain in our costumes. The lights dimmed. I whispered to Wocky, "Wish me luck." Then, I took my spot on stage.
I hit my ending pose and everyone cheered and clapped. I bowed and hurried off stage, Wocky taking my spot for his own performance.
I cheered along with the crowd. Wocky's talent for hip hop was no lie. Soon enough, his dance ended and we changed into our other costumes. I grabbed Wocky's hand as we stood behind the curtain, "Are you ready?" He spoke, "Yep. By the way, kiss me for good luck?" Before I could answer, he kissed me. I closed my eyes, kissing back. I pulled away, seeing the lights dim. I smiled, "Let's do this!"
The crowd absolutely loved our performances. The bakery earned enough money to keep the business running for a while.
I went into the bathroom and changed into some regular clothes. When I came out, Wocky was waiting for me. He looked nervous. I smiled, "What's up?" He scratched the back of his neck, "About earlier..." I giggled, "Yeah. Don't worry. I like you too." He looked at me, "Y-You do?" I nodded, "I do." He grinned and slung an arm over my shoulder, "Let's get a bite to eat to celebrate. My treat." I looked at him, "Sounds good. Let's go!"
