I stepped up to Temple Tem'Pul with the rest of the rebellion as Apollo and Mr. Wright rushed in.

I watched as the police tried to detain us and fail in their efforts. At the top of the steps stood Nahyuta. He stared down at the rebels and I with distaste, scorn even.

As Apollo approached him, I followed. Apollo called out to him. "Nahyuta! Hey!" Nahyuta looked at Apollo, before he turned and tried to walk off. Apollo stopped him. "Nahyuta! You aren't getting away this time. We need to talk." Nahyuta 's gaze traveled to me before returning to Apollo.

"Speak then."

Apollo looked at him, a deep sadness in his eyes. "Nahyuta, what happened to you? Weren't you once a part of the Defiant Dragons? Why are you-" Nahyuta shook his head. "That was the past and I have let it go so that I may move on. You should do the same."

I huffed and spoke up. "Have you forgotten what all of this was for?! Under the DCA, countless lives have been lost! People are killing themselves because of it! And you seem to be off in your own world like it's not affecting you!"

Nahyuta looked at me, but said nothing. I continued. "Our father could die because of it! Whatever leash Ga'ran has you on is not worth betraying your own flesh and blood!" His eyes shifted. "What you speak of is utter nonsense. Now, if you would excuse me-" I cut him off. "No. You will listen to me. Father and all the other rebels are fighting for freedom! Freedom from something so vile and so cruel. Putting in everything they have. Our mother would be ashamed to see that this is the man you've become."

Apollo looked at me. "(Y/n)!" I shook my head. "It's the truth, Apollo. Our father did not raise cowards. He raised his children to be independent and strong, something which Nahyuta clearly is not. His vile dependence on the queen has turned him into her loyal lap dog. He must atone for his mistakes. Just like the rest of us have."

With that, I turned and rushed to the rebels, helping Mrs. Inmee to take care of the injured.

Apollo turned to Nahyuta. Nahyuta's expression looked conflicted. His eyes were glancing from left to right. But as soon as he noticed Apollo's staring, his face went blank once again. Without a word, he turned and walked away.

'I must protect them...Even if it only brings about pain and suffering to my soul...'
