Delivering (Klavier x Pregnant! Reader)
A/N: Based on a true story!
Your Pov:
I tried to steady my breathing as my contractions came and went. Klavier sped down the street, one hand holding mine. I screamed in both pain and fear as he sped through a red light. Soon enough, we made it to the hospital. Klavier helped me inside and a few nurses took me to a room.
As I laid on the bed, the nurse checked everything out. She looked at me, "Looks like 3 centimeters. We'll do an epidural when you get a bit further." I laid there, squeezing Klavier's hand as I felt the pain wrack my body. Hours later, they came to give me the epidural.
The needle was inserted and that's when the real pain began. I couldn't hold back my screams. The doctor looked at me.
"I don't have to be here. If you keep screaming like that, I can go."
After the epidural, I felt strange. Klavier was watching the monitors. I felt myself getting so tired. His eyes widened as he looked at the monitors. He looked at me, "Fräulein! (Y/n)! Stay awake. Your heart rate is dropping along with the baby's. So is your blood pressure." He pressed the button for the doctor, but no one came.
The monitors began to go crazier.
I passed out a few times. Klavier was speaking when I passed out again. He was holding my hand when I woke up the third time. He told me something scary about when I passed out.
My heart almost stopped a few times.
And that caused my baby's heart to almost stop as well.
The nurse came in, "Excuse me, Ms. (L/n). We just got notice from the doctor that this was caused because they added too much with your epidural." Then, she was gone.
That's when I got a very strong contraction. I looked at Klavier, "Get a doctor or someone. Something is wrong. I have to push now." As he walked out, a familiar face entered.
It was Franziska. We were best friends and very close. She sat in the chair, "Now isn't the time for this foolish doctor to be fooling around." I nodded and started pushing as I felt another contraction. A few minutes later, Klavier came back with a doctor. The doctor approached me.
"Wait. Stop pushing."
I shook my head, "I care about my baby more than myself!"
A few more pushes later, the epidural started fading and I felt the baby crown. With a final push and a scream, the baby was born. However, there was no cry. I held my breath. The doctor spoke, "Your baby boy is perfectly fine. Some babies don't cry after they're out. Perfectly normal."
Then, Klavier brought up the epidural situation while the nurses were handling our baby. The doctor got mad at me, but Klavier and Franziska were quick to snap back.
I had been in labor and in pain for 37 hours.
I passed out as the nurses brought my baby boy back in.
I awoke to Klavier sleeping in the chair next to me. I nudged him and he woke up, "You're awake! You've been out for 3 days." I looked at him, "Where's my baby?" He smiled, "He's in the nursery while you recover." Franziska came in, "You're finally awake! I was worried. This fool and I had to feed the baby by holding him to your chest since you weren't waking up. How are you feeling?"
I sighed, "I feel alright, I guess."
That same day my baby and I were discharged from the hospital. We went home and recovered fully in peace.
I then found out a few weeks later, that Klavier had decided to sue the hospital for their negligence on my epidural.
All I can say is...
I hope he wins.
