Chase POV
"Let's find someplace more quiet." I practically begged this woman in my arms. I wanted to crash my lips on her, remove all these ridiculous clothes and take her as mine.
I didn't care if we were on a dance floor with hundreds of other wolves. Every one of them could feel our growing lust, and I didn't give a shit! She was mine and I needed to give her every piece of me.
'Loki! Control yourself. Her Alpha is coming." River spoke in his full wolf. His black eyes watched as I owned this body in my arms. He felt the need to be with her through me.
"The library, third floor. Find me there in one hour." She whispered and it sounded like a symphony in my head. I could hear nothing but that voice for all of my days and I would be in perfect bliss.
"I think you have taken enough of my wife's time." Alpha Jackson was trying to contain his wolf with little effort. I could snap his neck right here and he knew it.
"She is a rare beauty. One I would like to have." I held her body close to mine, refusing to let her go.
"I'm flattered, Alpha Chase. We are here for peace, not high school drama over a simple woman." She spoke so low of herself and it made me growl. The world should burn at her feet to prevent only a single tear of hers. She did not see the beauty that blossomed inside her.
She slowly pulled away from me and it felt like my arm was being ripped off. Jackson placed his arm around her waist and my wolf jumped forward. He will not touch her!
River's hand closed tightly around my shoulder. "Your wife has caught the attention of my brother. Maybe it's best she leaves for the night."
'What are you doing?' I shouted to my brother in our mind link. I wasn't letting her leave my sight.
'We are not all in place and Drake is MIA. Calm your wolf and get your head out of your dick.' He ordered back at me. I clenched my jaw at him. Loki was ready to fight every damn one of them, including my brother.
"I have a few things to attend to in the kitchen. I will go check on the staff." Kiera kissed her husband's cheek, but her eyes remained on me. She would regret touching that man.
"Always the perfect woman." Jackson praised her. Kiera winked to me then saunter away, swaying that gorgeous round ass.
"Are you enjoying yourselves?" Jackson asked us, but I had no need to speak to that man.
"Yes, it's a grand pack you have here. One we will enjoy ruling over." River stood tall beside me and I followed suit. It was time to show our dominance. The only one I cared to impress was that temptress of ours though.
"There has to be better terms we can come to. You can't honestly expect thirteen Alphas to denounce their titles to you?"
"That is exactly what we expect. You have a few hours left to enjoy your power before it becomes ours."
"You arrogant prick." Jackson growled to us. His wolf raised in his eyes and he had an unnatural power. He couldn't take all three of us, but he was stronger than we expected.
"How about a trade?" I smiled wickedly at him.
"A trade?" He repeated with curiosity.
"Your wife for your pack. Give her to us..." I began bargaining away everything we worked for.
"Chase, don't be a fool." River scolded me.
"Kiera has been mine since the day I found her. She will always be mine and never another's. Look elsewhere or you'll pay for the grave disrespect you have shown my mate and pack."
"Enough of this. We gave you until midnight and that is when we will all decide our fates." River stared down Jackson and I pushed my strength into him.
"And when we refuse you? Do you really think you can take all of us? You have reached too far this time, Dark Wolves." Jackson spoke confidently, unaware of the true power we possessed.
Every member of his pack was in the pack house drinking and dancing away. By midnight everyone will be dead or under our control.
"We shall see soon. Enjoy your party!" River nodded to him and grabbed my arm to walk away.
"He is setting a trap." River spit out to me once we were far enough away.
"You thought he wouldn't?"
"I knew he would try something. It didn't concern me until you lost yourself with that damn woman. We will not bargain away our revenge for her!"
"He would never give her up. I was just rattling him."
"No, you weren't. I can feel your overwhelming need for her. Stay away from Kiera. I will have to reject her first. Until our bond is severed neither of you two idiots can handle refusing her."
I laughed at my brother. "Wait until you have her in your arms, brother. You'll see how weak she makes even you."
I spoke with a devilish smile, but my eyes lowered when I saw Elizabeth standing beside my brother. She definitely knew about Kiera, and it was wrong to rub it in her face. I might not think she was best for River, but she was a close friend that he had always protected. Even if we could accept our fated mate I don't think River actually would. He relied on Elizabeth too much that I doubt he would ever let her go.
'Enough games, Loki. I'm going to find Drake. Make sure our men are in place and the idiots have the poison.' He got in my face. 'And don't piss off Jackson anymore. If he attacks before we can put his pack under, then this will turn into a blood bath.'
I nodded at him and let my anger wash away. He was right. I was being an idiot. We could still defeat these packs if we had too, but it would cause too much blood on our hands.
We planned to push the strongest of the packs to one location for years. This way we could come in and swiftly take the last real threats out. We still had so many questions unanswered too.
All of it seemed irrelevant when it came to our mate. She made me doubt our purpose, she made me doubt my brothers. Was this how she did? Would she come between us, separate our bond, then take us out one by one?
I walked around the dance floor, listening to the gossip of the women and men. They were curious who the three new Alphas were. I would had normally thrown myself into the thick of the party, pleasure my body with many of the women that looked to me with eyes of great need. All I could think about was Kiera.
What if we were wrong? What if the prophecy was made up, or not even for us?
We held otherworldly powers in our dark forest. One very few knew of. For centuries one family carried the burden of the oracles. Something thought to be of myth and legend, but we knew the truth.
The dark forest had its evil and wayward ways, but it was never wrong. I was fool to even entertain the idea the dark forest led us a stray. I couldn't ignore the pull to my mate though.
I let my feet take me where ever they chose to led me. I should had known there was only one place I wanted to be. A vile woman spoke words of such disrespect to my goddess and I knew I was about to ruin everything, and I didn't care.
