(GN) Ch. 155 - Untamed Power

Kiera POV

As the power of the brothers surged, the ground beneath us trembled. The air crackled with energy as Zeus took full form, a colossal beast of ancient power, his presence overwhelming.

A fierce wind whipped around, centering on Katherine. Her eyes widened in realization as Zeus began to materialize, summoned by the combined might of the Triplets.

"Protect the line!" I commanded, and we formed a defensive circle around the brothers.

Katherine shrieked, her grip tightening on the crystal. "You think you can defeat me?" she spat, her voice a venomous hiss.

"We know we can," I shouted back, raising my spear high. "This ends now!"

Zeus roared, and with a single, powerful stride, he charged at Katherine. She tried to summon her undead minions, but they faltered under his immense power.

With a deafening crash, Zeus collided with Katherine, his massive jaws snapping at her. Hundreds of our people fought resiliently against Katherine's forces that for a brief moment, it felt as if we had won.

Then, the crystal in her hand began to glow ominously, a blinding light erupting from it. "I command you!" Katherine roared out, and Zeus snarled back at her.

As he turned his head towards me, his eyes glowing red with pure evil, my heart faltered.

"No!" I whispered just as my spear ran through an undead's body. I knew at that very moment that all was lost. We reached too far, try to posses to dark of magic.

A formidable growl resounded from Zeus, his demeanor changing to blood lust for any that stood near him. Within minutes, he tore through the lines, clawing and chomping down on both my pack and Katherine's.

I looked to the brothers; they remained kneeling on the floor, hands clasped as sweat poured off their bodies. They tried to regain control of the beast they unleashed, but it was too late.

"Becky!" I heard Andy scream in agony. I found him racing towards his mate's body, snatching her in his arms as he cried for her to hold on. Then Zeus swiped his arm, his claws tearing through five of my pack members in one fell swoop. Their bodies dropped to the ground, dead instantly.

"Karen, no!" I cried as I watched this demon tear through every soul like they were mere ants.

"You have to do it, Cherie." Chase's strangled voice hit my ears. I looked back at him, his eyes filled with pain and despair. "We can't hold him back. He will kill us all." He said, and I shook my head no.

"Save our people, Princess. We will all die if you don't." River added, the struggle to hold back Zeus was as evident in his eyes as it was in his brothers.

"Protect our son, Doll. He needs you." Drake added, and I nearly died right there. I had only one choice, a choice I never wanted to make.

"Kiera!" Elizabeth's voice hurled through the air. I turned just as her body was flung against a tree. Andy grabbed a spear, rage coursing through his veins as he stood to face off a darkness that would take him too.

Zeus laughed menacingly at Andy's feeble attempt to show him fear. Elizabeth stood, regaining her composure, and charged right back at him. All would be lost, I had to save them.

I closed my eyes, tears pouring down my face as I reached my soul to the darkness.

"I love you; it was always you that I needed," I whispered, my mind wandering to memories I shared with the brothers. Our time was too short, filled with too much mistrust and uncertainty. Our love barely had a chance to blossom.
