LongWei had been gone the last two days on his regular three day hunting trip. He didn't plan on returning early except Zimo had sent him a message using one of the hawks he had raised. All it said was 'HELP!'. Thinking something terrible had happened he mounted Ji and returned in a flash.
"Baby!" LongWei called out the moment he returned. Hearing his voice Zimo ran out of the house.
"Dear something terrible has happened!" Zimo shouted in a panic. LongWei felt his heart drop. He immediately grabbed Zimo and checked every inch of him for any injuries.
"I'm fine. It's Little Bai he's gone missing." Zimo explained.
"You called me back for that?"
"Of course. He's been gone since yesterday. I've called Little Bai, AiAi and LinLin made it's favourite fish, and we've searched the area but there's no sign of Little Bai anywhere."
"So." LongWei said unconcerned with the fact their white tiger Bai had gone missing.
"Dear, how can you say that? Little Bai is still a baby. Something terrible must have happened. We have to go look for our Little Bai." Zimo said pulling LongWei's robe towards Ji. His plan was to ride Ji around the mountain in search of Little Bai.
"That Little baby of yours is bigger than you and a tiger. It's probably wandering the mountain and asserting its dominance. There's no reason for us to go looking for it."
"This has never happened before. Little Bai always comes home when it's time to eat." Zimo said seriously worried. LongWei didn't want to look for the missing tiger but he wouldn't refuse a request from his little birdie. He grabbed Zimo's thin waist and helped him mount Ji.
...
The two of them wandered the forest in search of Little Bai for hours. With the sun setting LongWei was ready to call it quits.
"Baby, it's getting dark. Let's go home."
"No, we haven't found Little Bai."
"Baby, it's getting cold and dark. That tiger of yours is built to survive out here but you can't. We need to go home."
LongWei tried coaxing Zimo with his deep sultry voice but Zimo was too worried to care. He was determined to find Little Bai.
LongWei tried his best to convince Zimo to go home. It wasn't until Zimo sneezed that he gave up on coaxing him and headed straight home despite Zimo's objections.
...
"Uncle LongWei, is Uncle Zimo going to be okay?" AiAi and LinLin asked.
"He'll be fine. He's just worried because Bai hasn't returned." LongWei said. It had been five days since Little Bai went missing and Zimo was feeling depressed. They had gone out several times in search of the missing tiger but with no luck.
"Why do you think Tiger Bai hasn't come back?" AiAi asked. They had become used to the tiger and wolves after living together a few years.
"It's a wild animal despite what Zimo thinks. It's probably just wandering the mountain chasing after some rabbits." LongWei said. He tried to sound unconcerned but LongWei was also starting to worry. Not about the tiger but about Zimo.
"Baby, you need to eat." LongWei said as he carried over some warm meat buns to Zimo who was staring off into the distance.
"I'm not hungry."
"Baby, please. I'm worried about you."
"I'm not the one who's missing. You should be worried about our Little Bai. Let's take Ji out and search the mountain again." Zimo said.
