Bodyguard

After he left I decided to get ready and leave.

It took me a few minutes before I found the bathroom but once I found it I decided to freshen myself up a little bit.

Usually I'd take a shower but now that I had a bandage wrapped around my whole neck-shoulder-arm area I knew I'd have to postpone that for a few more days.. Or cry through the pain.

Unfortunately I had to re-use my old clothes but it didn't really matter to me, I'd change them once I get home.

Once I was done in the bathroom, I walked back to the bed I was sleeping on to collect my stuff - but I couldn't find it.

It was nowhere in sight.

Not under my bed, not near the couch, not stuffed in a drawer, not on the table - nowhere.

So I knew I'd have to ask one of the ghouls for help.

Now that I felt like I could trust them a little more than before, I didn't have a as bad feeling as before - but something told me that this wouldn't go well.

I slowly walked through another door, searched the stairs, headed towards the stairs and strolled down towards the kitchen while I was trying to think about positive things.. And to not assume that they'd want to kill me and that's why I couldn't find my stuff.

"Hello? Excuse me?!" I yelled, hoping someone would reply and let me know where they are.

Okay.. now where exactly is this kitchen ..

The only way to find out was by trying to enter every single door - luckily they all were locked, so I didn't run into anyone else and embarrassed myself even more.

Some minutes later I found a door which was unlocked and I walked through it.

And it was the kitchen.

Yoshimura was brewing coffee while Yomo was cleaning some dishes.

"Uhm.. hello" I waved awkwardly, hoping to not disturb them.

"Oh.. hello dear. How can we help you?" Yoshimura asked kindly.

"I'm looking for my bags.. I have to head home soon - can't miss out on too much university stuff" I explained to him.

Renji quickly glanced over to him, Yoshimura returned the gaze.

"Well, (Y/N).. we've been thinking.. - the Aogiri Tree is after you and they're a huge group of ghouls. We couldn't possibly let you out into the wild without any help to defend yourself. So we want to offer our help." Yoshimura began to suggest.

Help me?

Why do they care so much?

I nodded in response so he'd continue speaking.

"One of our ghouls would secretly follow you around - just to ensure your wellbeing. You don't have to talk to them, you'll just get to know them and eventually talk about private space and such. Again, I can promise that we won't really invade your privacy, we just want to make sure you'll be okay while we investigate why you're being hunted down" he went on.
