Trigger Warning: This chapter contains a bit of violence.
"Hello" I said in return.
Okay.. now I'll just have to act as if I actually remember..
His office was very casual. The only thing bothering me about it was the light - it was the typical hospital light that was just.. Not warm and actually flickering if you only had one on.
White walls, wooden floor, a metal desk, two comfy office chairs, some windows behind him, a huge white shelf with lots of files on the right next to his desk, a plant in the left corner and a white commode on the left as well.
The only decoration he had were some pictures on top of the commode and a huge framed one hanging over it.
While I couldn't see the small ones properly, the big one resembled a field of flowers and some kids playing on it.
Maybe his actual family?
A door leading to another room was right next to that as well but of course, I didn't know where it led to.
"Come here" he spoke while pointing at a chair in front of his desk, he was sitting behind it.
Obeying to his order I headed over to the chair in front of his desk and sat down on it.
"So, Yuka, you seem to have remembered our past - your past?" he asked, still grinning.
"I have" I lied to his face.
"You have?" he prompted as he raised one eyebrow.
"Of course, otherwise, I wouldn't be here" I lied again, trying to sound secure this time.
"So tell me our exact contract" he demanded as his grin turned into a little smirk.
Shit..
"Well.. that's why I'm here, I don't remember that" I explained.
"Sure, sure. Do you remember when I got you out of that hellhole?" he wanted to know instead.
Shit.. no I don't
"Wasn't it a friday?" I asked instead as I scratched my head in embarrassment.
He shook his head and his smirk enlarged.
Instead of speaking to me he started staring at his computer screen.
Oh no.. he noticed..
"You know what's very suspicious? Yuka Kanou's file was stolen two weeks ago and now you suddenly show up" he told me while our eyes met for a few seconds and it left like he saw right through my lies.
His eyes were so.. Dark, spreading goosebumps all over my body and making me bite my lip from fear of him finding out.
