It didn't take long before your tears wore you out, tired you. Though your heart was racing, desperately trying to keep you awake because of a potential predator, Koutarou Amon, was still nearby, you dozed off. Your hand was entwined in one of his' the entire time. Eventually, your body relaxed and grew limb to the point of it falling forward. He gently caught you and let you rest on his shoulder. All he did was hold onto your hand and lend you a shoulder to lean against. It was you who further snuggled up to him - a reflex from when you were with Renji. The poor male couldn't move but in all honesty, he didn't want to either. To him, it was a sign that you somewhat trusted him. To you, it stayed unnoticed. Only about an hour later you asked for him to help you lay down. You were far from awake, your eyes stayed closed the entire time. In your sleep-drowned state, you believed that it was Renji helping you tug the sheets in the right place. Amon took your tired state as a sign for him to go - but not before he made sure you were actually asleep and okay. Just in case you'd be worried, he wrote a short note and put it on your nightstand next to the fixed necklace. Before he quietly left, he ate a bit of the food Renji brought.

This drab Christmas was overshadowed by sadness, but he wanted to help you enjoy it as much as possible. Because he cared more than one could imagine.

From that day on, he visited more often. Most of your days went better and you kept climbing the stairs of getting better. Step by step, your life improved. But every now and then you had bad days. Days in which you sent Amon away, in fear he would hurt you. You did built trust to him but the bond you had was not yet strong enough on your bad days. However, Amon didn't mind. Sometimes he brought you flowers, sometimes other little gifts. If you had a bad day, he left without complaining.

He understood.

Unfortunately, Amon was not the only male in your life. Renji was still around, too. Despite him bursting into anger at Christmas, you let him spend time with you. Time that always messed you up. Again he apologized a million times, showered you with bigger gifts: clothes for your kid, clothes for yourself, jewelry, food. But did that make up for his behavior? No. Not at all. Most times he judged you for keeping Amon's gifts, called you out on it, pretending you were still dating. Even to the point of you calling a nurse to guide him out because he was scaring you.

Same routine; he apologized and came back. He was the one who triggered your bad days. The few good times you had with him were spent talking about the past, happy memories or how names for your child.

You decided against finding out the baby's sex. It didn't matter to you and Renji simply had to accept that. So you needed two names; a female and a male one. Besides that, you also began worrying about a room for your baby. You had nowhere to go as you were currently bound to the hospital - but the kid would need a room sooner or later.

Of course, Renji brought up the idea of a baby's room at the house Chigyou lend you, but you denied - which caused another fight.

There was one thing you were sure about, and that was that the baby wouldn't live with it's father. The more time he spent with you, the less he deserved to be with it - and you. He demanded to touch your baby bump, caress it and got upset when you didn't want him to. Even after all this time, he simply didn't want to understand that you didn't want him to touch you. He guilt-tripped you, made you feel bad for the state he put you in.

Renji was still mentally abusing you. And you knew it. But you didn't know how to get out.
