(Your POV)

A bunch of investigators were still following my every step. Even when I attacked them, broke a few of their quinques, they didn't let loose. It wasn't all too hard to keep them interested but some were quick to turn away once we reached the outskirts because they began to see through this - especially when they were notified that more ghouls had been sighted. Nonetheless, it was still a nice little mob following me and certainly enough to give every other team an easier start. Although my body was past the breaking point, I kept pushing on. I knew that the moment I'd stop running, I'd throw up. My stomach was aching, my sight blurry for the most part. That I could even keep moving was a miracle.. I was desperate to fulfill my duty.

Admittedly, it was hard to push on. Every dead end I headed into, to make it seem as if I didn't have a plan, was a struggle. Attacking them but making sure they would - at most - have a scratch was difficult. Ensuring they could hit but wouldn't fatally injure me required a lot of my concentration. And dodging bullets was a pain, too.

So much to not having to fight. They would've never stuck with me if I would've have given them a chance to attack me. Especially one of them, a rather small, seemingly male investigator was very persistent. Not only did he end up throwing knives my way, he also had a huge quinque in the shape of a scythe that he didn't hesitate to swing at me. His speed sure was remarkable, he could easily keep up with me and was very agile. He was the actual challenge of this, I could've really used another pair of eyes just to watch him. Aside from a few other minor cuts here and there, he was the one that injured me for the most part. It was almost like he could see through my next move, knew it before I did. In order to get through this, I had to be as attentive as I could be.

It was a game of life and death: One wrong move and it would be my end.

Pretending to be a helpless ghoul wasn't easy either. I really wasn't helpless, I knew what I was doing. But now that we had been going at this adult play of hide and seek, I was growing weaker every second. Occasionally, I let bullets pierce through me or when they were in front of me, I let them slice through parts of my body. If it wouldn't be for my great healing skills, I would've lost quite a few fingers by now but thankfully they grew back in mere minutes. Nonetheless, my energy was steadily fading.

Now that we were at the outskirts, I just had to shake them off and then hurry towards everyone else and continue to assist. It was almost over. However, that almost wasn't soon enough. While I was still willing to push my limits, I figured I soon wouldn't be able to push further. If I had to keep going at this pace for a lot longer, I'd simply pass out. There was no way I could go on being so on the edge for another hour or so. I had to slow down in order to keep going but right now, with those investigators right behind me, I couldn't. So, I had to hurry shaking them off.

If I take a sharp turn to the left and then the right twice I'm running in a circle but I might be able to confuse them and shake them off.. Maybe.

Thinking clear was a lot more difficult, too. With so many things that I had to watch, there was only a little time to think my next step through. I had to act impulsively and by instinct.
