His Problem

The day went by rather peacefully, Renji slept through most of it due to his alcohol abuse and because he was sleeping on me, I couldn't really do anything else besides sleeping as well.

It felt good, though - especially after barely sleeping during our unplanned stay at Kanou's place. At least I definitely still had to recover from that incident.

Seeing some snowflakes softly fall to the ground whenever I opened my eyes, made me feel safe. Something about them was calming and relaxing. The wind howling against the windows just added to this feeling. I enjoyed being here even if all I did was.. Sleep.

As I woke up from a slight headache approaching, I noticed that the familiar warmth of Renji's body was gone and instead I was laying on my side and he was gone.

Realizing that it was dark outside, I planned on shifting once more and continuing my sleep but for some reason it felt wrong to do so without Renji.

So I decided to wait for him, thinking that he might've gone to the bathroom.

But he didn't come back anytime soon and the longer I waited, the more awake I became.

In the end I decided to get up and look for him.

Yawning, I headed for the bathroom first - maybe he fell or maybe he was so drunk he had to throw up?

"Renji?" I murmured with a tired voice while rubbing my eyes and knocking on the door with my other hand.

No reply, so I slowly opened the door - it wasn't locked either and no light was on.

Just to make sure he really wasn't in here, I flicked the light switch, turning on the light.

Groaning from the sudden brightness, it took a few seconds before my eyes adjusted to it and stopped hurting.

He's not here.. mmh

Turning off the light and leaving the room, I headed to the hallway.

So he might be downstairs.

My legs carried me to the top of the stairs, just as I was about the call for him, I heard his voice.

"Yeah, don't worry. We're at my grandparents house" he spoke to someone.

Who is he speaking too?

"No, it's fine. We got out alive. She's wounded and turning into a ghoul for good.."

And why is he giving out such information

"I'm all good. Thanks f-.. Yes I did.."

Someone is worrying for him..

"I don't think I can return home soon.. If we return now Kanou will catch her again, I can't let that happen. He needs to be eliminated first otherwise he'll continue to hurt her"

I'm confused..

"Don't worry, she's asleep right now"

Why would that be important..
