-Proverbs 1:5&7-
NLT: Let the wise listen to these Proverbs and become even wiser. Let those with understanding reconvenes guidance. Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and discipline.
Meaning: Lately, I've been reading through the book of Proverbs, and if you are looking for a book in the bible filled with wisdom, advice and little life tips, this is the book to turn to! It also talks a lot about wisdom, like in this verse! There's lots of "earthly" wisdom sources, however the bible tells us God is the true source, the only giver of true wisdom and discernment. When you think of wisdom, what do you think of? I think wisdom is this: being able to know right from wrong, having the wisdom to make the right choices, having a good judgement.... Things like that! We are told that fearing The Lord is the basis to true knowledge... Fearing as in having a respect and trusting God! Fools despise good judgement says the next part! Use Gods word and what he tells us as a basis for your judgement, determining right from wrong. Fear God, for this is the foundation of knowledge!
