"Tana!" Isla yelled as she ran over Santana and jumped up into her arms.

Santana smiled at the girl and raised Isla above her head before hoisting her on her hip and walking closer to the Mendoza home.  Even though it was freezing outside, Julia had invited Santana over to help decorate their house because, 1, Isla was dying to see her, and 2, the two got to spend more time together.

"Hey," Julia smiled at her best friend who grinned back.

"Hey," Santana simply responded before wrapping her free arm around Julia who hugged her back.

"Hey!  You're sandwiching me!" Isla let out a muffled yelp causing the two high schoolers to giggle.

Julia and Santana pulled away as Santana set Isla back on the ground.

"You wanna take a break and make some hot chocolate?" Julia asked her younger sister who excitedly jumped up and down.  "I think she's already high on candy canes," Julia whispered to her best friend who giggled and wrapped her arm around Julia's shoulders as the two followed Isla into the house.

Their house wasn't anything too nice.  It was a one-story place with three bedrooms and two bathrooms.  On the other hand, Santana's house was gigantic, her parents both having high paying jobs, but Santana loved Julia's house just as much as she loved her own; maybe even more.

Santana's house had five bedrooms, three of which were empty since Santana was an only child.  The house seemed empty and lonely most of the time which was quite the opposite of Julia's house.

Her home always seemed to be bustling with activity, whether Isla was running around with her friends and stuffed animals, or Julia had invited the foursome over for a sleepover, the house was never quiet.

Plus, Santana and Julia had made so many memories in that house, and in Julia's bedroom, Santana sometimes wished she could live there with her.  She would live anywhere if it meant she could be with Julia.

And Julia's parents were basically Santana's parents too, and vice versa since their daughters spent so much time together.

"Hola, Santana," Julia's father said from the couch where he watched a soccer game on the TV.

"Hey," Santana smiled at him before being led to the kitchen.

"Pecas, your mother is at the store, don't leave any messes," Arturo called out to his oldest daughter.

"Okay, will do," Julia simply responded before she lifted Isla up into the air to open the cabinets and grab a couple packets of hot chocolate out.

"I never got to ask, what happened with you and Layton that day?" Santana asked, leaning on the counter as she referred to the time when Julia and Layton had caused a scene in the hallway.

"I mean, he apologized but-"

"I'm guessing you didn't take him back from all the yelling and the screaming," Santana smirked at her friend who playfully rolled her eyes.

"I had the right to be mad, and no one cares anyway.  That school is my bitch," Julia told her best friend.

"Hey!  I can hear you ya know!" Isla yelled from the table as Santana grinned at her.

"Oh please, you've heard worse.  Especially when dad's team doesn't win," Julia said, cueing Julia's father to start screaming at the TV in Spanish which made the two Mendozas and the Lopez break out laughing.

"What'd he say?" Santana asked as Julia handed her a mug of hot chocolate before she put one on the table for Isla.

"It was just a bunch of 'Oh, I'd do anything to be with you' blah, blah, blah," Julia mocked the boy in a deep voice causing Santana to giggle.  "He even said he'd go see Ms. Pillsbury for counseling or something," Julia said before taking a sip of her hot chocolate.

"I think he needs to see a real doctor," Santana told her best friend.

"I mean, maybe.  It's kinda weird how he's all sweet and adorable, and then in two seconds he's screaming and yelling.  It's like one to a hundred," Julia sighed out, wishing she'd fall for someone who wasn't problematic for once.

Well, she did fall for one girl who wasn't that bad.

"So did you two break up?" Santana asked, mentally crossing her fingers and hoping that the two had finally called it quits.

"I mean, I don't really know.  I didn't really say anything about that.  I just told him he'd have to win me back.  And I don't plan on talking to him until he does, so I guess we kinda broke up," Julia shrugged, taking another sip of her hot chocolate.

"I didn't like him that much anyway," Isla commented.

"Uh, what?" Santana asked with an amused expression on her face.

"I mean, when I met him, he was all like 'me, me, me, me, me.'  The only thing he talked about was himself and how he played football and was really popular and, I quote, 'dating the hottest chick in school,'" Isla told the best friends, a lot of words coming out of a 7-year-old's mouth.

"I think she said all that needed to be said," Santana sipped her hot chocolate.

Julia hung the wreath on the front door while Santana wrapped lights around the tree not too far away and Isla looked up into the sky, her mouth open, trying to catch the snowflakes that had begun floating down from the sky.

Santana had just finished placing the lights on the tree but noticed that Julia was struggling to keep the wreath in place.

So she did what any good friend would do.

She slowly and quietly snuck up behind Julia, on her tiptoes so the thin layer of snow didn't crunch beneath her feet, and when she was close enough, she began to tickle her sides.  Julia squealed at the contact and squirmed around, gasping for air.

"San...I can't...breathe," Julia breathed out, Santana, wanting to hear angelic laugh forever, didn't want to stop, but did since she wanted to keep her best friend alive and breathing.

So she wrapped her arms around her best friend's waist and placed her chin on her shoulder.

"You having a little trouble there?" Santana teased.

"Stop!" Julia playfully shouted as Santana laughed at her childishness.  "I'm almost done.  I think it goes around like this and then-" the wreath hit the ground with a thud as Santana continued to chuckle at the green-eyed beauty.  "Stupid thing," Julia kicked the wreath into the front door.

"Hey!  Where's your Christmas spirit?" Santana joked, getting another playful eye roll from Julia.

"You're so annoying," Julia said, not pulling away from Santana's touch yet.

"But I love you," Santana said before leaning down and kissing Julia's collarbone as the freckled girl blushed and her face heated up

"If you loved me then you would help me with this god damn wreath!" Julia said, leaning back into Santana.

"Nah, I think I'd like to watch you struggle.  You're cute when you're mad," Santana smiled.

"You're annoying when you open your mouth," Julia mocked as Santana let out an overdramatic gasp.

"How dare you!" Santana playfully shouted as it was Julia's turn to giggle.

"I love you too," Julia turned and kissed Santana's temple as Isla watched the two.

"Are you guys like...dating or something?"
