Kinda long...I guess
Julia was late for the only class she actually enjoyed.
The baseball
She jogged down the hallway and around the corner.
The baseball
"Alright guys, let's hear it for our first songwriting seminar!" Julia heard Mr. Schue shout from the choir room causing everyone to cheer.
The baseball
"Hey, guys, sorry I'm late," Julia said, rushing into the classroom as everyone's eyes fell on her.
The baseball
"Jesus! What's on your face?" Mercedes shouted, covering her mouth with her hand.
The baseball
Julia's eyes settled on everyone's shocked reactions, but lingered on Santana's for a moment who had her jaw dropped and her eyebrows raised.
The baseball
"That's a nasty black eye if I've ever seen one," Puck said.
The baseball
"Julia, how'd you get that? Are you okay?" Mr. Schue worriedly asked, walking toward the girl.
The baseball
"Yeah, yeah, I'm fine," Julia forced out a smile.
The baseball
"I was at the park with my little sister and some guy was playing baseball with his son; he threw it right at me and here we are," Julia shrugged before making her way over to an empty seat in between Santana and Mercedes.
"Are you sure you're okay?" Mr. Schue asked, clearly concerned. "Have you iced it or anything?"
"Yeah, yeah, it's fine. Continue," Julia motioned to the teacher as he left off from his place, handing out rhyming dictionaries.
"Uh, okay, while, uh, Quinn and Rachel are hard at work, we're gonna try to write an anthem of our own," Mr. Schue said, but Santana could care less.
Santana studied her best friend. She stared at the black, blue, and purple bruise around one of Julia's beautiful green eyes and noticed the crazy amount of swelling around it. Santana also realized the amount of makeup Julia had on, completely hiding her freckles that Santana loved so much. She wondered if Julia was maybe covering something else up.
"What the hell, Jules? Why didn't you call me?" Santana leaned over, whispering in her best friend's ear.
"Oh, I dropped my phone and it completely shattered, I'm gonna have to get a new one," Julia whispered back.
"Okay, but I'm coming to your house to help you take care of it, okay?" Santana asked.
But it really wasn't a question because Santana was going to help take care of the girl no matter what. Plus, she had a series of questions to ask the beauty.
"No, you don't have t-"
"I'm coming over," Santana told the girl. "Did you have time to work on the song though? Cause we can do it tomorrow if you're not rea-" this time Santana was interrupted.
"No, I think I got it down," Julia tried to force out a believable smile, but Santana could tell it was fake.
She would definitely grill Julia with questions later.
"Okay," Santana whispered back before addressing the whole class. "Mr. Schue? Julia and I have been already working on a song that I wrote."
"Really? That's amazing," Mr. Schue smiled as Santana nodded her head, as Julia stared off into space, not really paying attention to anything. "Well, can we hear it?"
