The next morning, you found that you were awake before many of the other Hufflepuffs. You went down to the common area and was enjoying the morning with the other early birds while you staired into the flames of the fire thinking to yourself. Draco had lied to you about going to the prefect meeting and ignored the fact that Perkinson was hanging all over him on the train. Then you remembered what Granger and Weasley had told you on the train. He had called Granger a 'mudblood' and was so stupid to allow himself to be cought in Knocktrun Alley. You were so angry with him but had cooled off enough to talk to him.

Later that morning, Professor Sprout had informed you that Professor Slughorn would be teaching potions and excepted students with Exceeds Expectations in his N.E.W.T classes. You didn't bother getting any ingredients for that class because you believed that Snape would be teaching it like always, and Snape didn't let students with less the Outstanding in in O.W.L. classes.

As for Defense Against the Dark Arts, you were told you wouldn't be accepted into that class thanks to Snape now teaching it. You may not have gotten an Outstanding on the O.W.L.s but you did enjoy the class.

You looked over you schedule. You had Care of Magical Creatures 1st. You ate your breakfast and headed off to Care of Magical Creatures. Because you were now in your 6th year, and students from all four houses were to be found in the same class, you expected to see more then what did. You arrived at Hagrids hut only to find out that you were the only one in his N.E.W.T class. You were shocked. You didn't think any of the Slytherins would have joined, they did hate Hagrid, but you thought at least Potter and his friends would have come. Hagrid was disappointed and you spent the morning consoling him.

When it was time for the students to move onto the next subject, you headed to the star room in hopes of seeing Draco. You were still upset with him, but you wanted to talk to him. To your dismay, Draco didn't show up until it was brake time, just before lunch. You heard the door open and you stood to look at the door behind you.

"I was hoping you were in here." Draco said and sat down on the couch. "What had you so upset last night?"

"I told you." You said and sat beside him. "You lied to me. You didn't go to the meeting on the train."

"That's not the only thing that's bugging you." Draco said. "So what's up?"

"Really? You're just going to ignore the fact I cought you in a lie?" You said shocked. "You're just going to lie about the next thing that's bothering me. So why even bother?"

"I didn't mean to lie." He said softly. "I was headed there, but when I walked by Zabini and Nott, I joined them and well..."

"You didn't go?" You asked him sarcastically. "You are a school prefect, Draco. It is your job..."

"I know what my job is!" He yelled. "I already got this lecture from Azam!" Zack Azam was a 7th year Slytherin prefect. You had met him back in your 5th year when you were visiting the Slytherin common room.

"Look, I don't actually care that you didn't go" You said. "Just that you lied to me last night about it."

"Then why did you take your anger out on me before that?" Draco was confused.

"I went to find out what happened when I was notified that you had not made it to the meeting. I wanted to know if everything was ok." You said as tears threatened to show themselves. "And I saw you with Crabbe, Goyle and Perkinson." You said Perkinson as if it was a horrible word. "I also saw Perkinson leaning on you, playing with your hair and holding onto your hand." Your eyes started to water a little.

"Oh..." Draco said, feeling bad. "That."

"Oh that?" You replied angerly. "What's going on Draco?

"It's easier to just ignore her, than to tell her to stop." He said plainly.

"I see." Your voice went cold. "Then, would it be easier to be with her, than to tell me the truth?" The look on Draco's face froze.

"No. I don't want anything to do with Perkinson. She's like a bad rash that won't heal." Draco said defensely. "I've tryed to tell her to leave me alone..."

"Then try harder!" You snapped and left the room for lunch.

"You normally sit with Malfoy at lunch." You heard sam say. You looked up from the Hufflepuff table. "Did you brake up or something?" She asked. You gave her a dirty look at looked back at your plate.

"You don't actually care." You said coldly.

"Sure I do." Sam said and sat across from you. "I'm your friend..."

"If I'm not with him." You said, still not looking at her.

"What's up?" Sebastian said sitting beside Sam.

"Nothing." You answered him with a fake smile. "Draco and I are just fighting, that's all." You looked at Sam. "And now Sam thinks she can come waltzing back into my life. Well, I got news for you. We didn't brake up." You stood and walked out of the Great Hall. You didn't want the hear Sam's excuses or expectations. The fact was that you felt angry at her for not understanding. Last year, she had asked you to make a choice between her and Draco.

"(Y/n)!" Sebastian hollered. "Wait up." You stopped and let him catch up. "What's going on? I didn't hear from you all summer." You looked at him shocked.

"I sent you letters. I sent them when I sent Sam and Luna letters." You said confused.

"They didn't get letters either." Sebastian told you. "But what was that all about in the Great Hall?" You told him how Sam wanted you to choose her or Draco.

"Oh, I heard about that." Sebastian said, "I told Sam that she should just let you be with who you want. She got mad at me."

"I tryed to explain to her that Draco is nothing like his father. He acts that way, but he's not acutely like that." You said as the two of you headed outside. Sebastian seemed to understand and agree with you. And asked you if you wanted him to talk to her.

"No, she'll just get md at you too." You said and headed off to your next class.
