Soon the last Quidditch match of the year was here, and it was between Gryffindor and Slytherin. You sat in the stands to watch. You were still mad at Draco so you cheered for Gryffindor team. The Slytherin team started cheating. Penalties were handed out left and right. If Gryffindor caught the the snitch after 50 points up, then they would win the cup. You watched Draco and Potter fly around. Potter was being attacked by the two Slytherin beaters but Potter flew to make the two smash into each other. Draco seemed to be keeping close to Potter, making it appear that Potter was the one looking for the snitch. Soon the Gryffindor team was 60 points ahead. Then Potter zoomed off. Draco went after him and grabbed Potter's broom and was pulling it. The snitch flew off. Madam hooch, the referee, sketched, giving out more penalties.
"You cheating scum! You filthy cheating..." Jordan Lee, the commentator, said into the microphone. Professor McGonagall didn't worrie about yelling at him either, she was so angry at the Slytherins for cheating she was shouting and waving a finger at Draco. You were getting angry at them too for the same reason. All the Slytherins, apart from Draco, headed to a Gryffindor chaser, Angelica. Potter flew to them to the clear the way, but Draco had seen the snitch. Draco drove! Potter flew fast to catch up and knocked Draco's arm out of the way and caught the snitch. Gryffindor won. You jumped up with the others and cheered.
Once everyone was back indoors you spotted Draco and his team mates pouting at the Slytherin table. It served them right for cheating. Draco looked up and met your eyes. You gave him a 'that's what you get' look and walked over to the Hufflepuff table. You sat down and started talking to Kathy. Sam was probably with Sebastian somewhere; the two of them were always together these days.
"Looks like someone wants to talk to you." Kathey said looking behind you. You truned to see Draco walking towards the Hufflepuff table.
"Yeah, he's probably comming over here expecting me to yell at him for cheating." You said, turning back around.
"Are you?" She asked.
"Nope. They lost and should have." You said coldly.
"(Y/n), can...can I talk to you?" You heard Draco studdar. You gave Kathy a look that told her you would be right back. Draco walked out of the Great Hall as you fallowed him.
"I know that this wont fix anything." Draco said once you were both in the corridor.
"Fix what?" You asked. Draco pulled an envelope out of his pocket and handed it to you.
"I wrote the ministry, asking them to leave Buckbeak alone. I tryed to tell them it was my fault and to let him go, but..." Draco trailed off. You opended the letter and read.
'Dear Mr. Draco Malfoy, Unfortunately the life of a student is far greater then that of a hippogriff. You could have been hurt far worse then a scratch on your arm. We are sorry, but we have no choice in the matter, and must deem the hipogriff in question as a dangerous creature.
The community of disposal of dangerous creatures.'
You hugged Draco once you were done reading.
Draco's pov
'She's hugging me?' He thought as your arms wrapped around him. 'Is she still mad at me?' You pulled away and looked Draco in the eye.
"Thank you." You said hugging him again.
"Ok, I'm a bit confused." Draco said pulling you away from him, with a look of puzzlement.
Your pov
"You did something, Draco." You said smiling at him.
"But he's not free." Draco said slowly.
"All I really wanted you to do all year long was admit that it was your fault to those at the ministry. That's all I wanted." You said hugging him again.
"So you're not mad anymore?" He still spoke slowly with a confused look.
"I'm not mad about that anymore, but I'm still mad that you broke your promise to me." You said stepping back. His eyes wided. He must have forgotten about that. "Remember, you promised me you would be nice people this year, all year long you have been torching Potter with the thought of dementors. So, yeah. I'm still upset about the broken promise." You truned and started walking away.
"I'm sorry," Draco said, grabbing your arm. "Please don't be mad at me. I don't like it when your mad at me."
"Then don't apologize to me. Say your sorry to those you hurt this year, that includes Potter, his friends, and Hagrid." You said, not looking at him. He let go of your arm. You walked back inside the hall and sat down with your friends. Sam had finally arrived.
"I saw you hugging Malfoy." Sam said with a mischievous look. "What's going on." You told her what he did.
"He did what?" She said shocked.
"Yeah, that's why I was hugging him." You told her. "He's still in trouble for breaking the promise though."
A week had passed and everyone in the school was studying hard for the upcoming exams. You wanted to enjoy the sunshine, so you found yourself in the courtyard a lot with your school books. You wondered why the other students didn't do the same. There were only a few people outside. You were reading your potions book under a tree, when you heard Draco's voice.
"Can I join you?" He asked. You jumped a little.
"Draco!" You said, sounding annoyed. "You stataled me." You said softer this time. You nodded and he sat down.
"How come you want to study over here?" You asked.
"I'm fighting with Pansy." He said with his cold drawl.
"Is it true that you two are now together?" You said still reading your book, or at least still looking like you were.
"Yeah, she asked me about a week after you and I split." He said sadly. "I thought it would make you jealous, but it sort of back fired on me." You smiled.
