Summer ended, and before you realized how much time had gone by, you were sitting on the Hogwarts Express with Kathy and Sam. The two of them were talking about the summer brake while you looked out the window, like always. You were looking for Draco. You haven't seen him sence he bought you those candies in Diagon Alley. Your friends still didn't know you and him were friends, so it wasn't like you could just go find him.
You watched as the Wesley's got onto the train. The twins were teasing their little sister, but you didn't see Ron or the famous Harry Potter. Maybe they were already on the train, not that you cared.
You looked around somemore and finally you spotted the Malfoys. Draco was trying to get away from his mom, who was holding onto him as if the train was a vicious monster that would take her son far away forever. You smiled watching this. It made Draco look like all the other kids in the world; muggle and wizards alike.
"What's on your mind (f/n)?" You were snapped back from your thoughts by Sam. "Your smiling way to brightly." She joked. You turned to your friends still smiling.
"I'm watching the Malfoys." You told your friends, who came to the window. They started laughing when they saw Draco struggling. He got out of his mother's grasp and climbed onto the train before she could grab him again. You saw him walk past your cabin bright red and in a huff. His mom had embarrassed him good.
'Sometimes he needs to feel that way.' You thought. 'He was so full of himself most of the time. It served him right to be treated like a normal 12 year old.
It wasn't long after that, the train started moving. Sebastian found his way into your cabin for a little bit before heading back to his Ravenclaw friends. Kathy went off to find her friends from her year. She was now a fourth year student. Sam had fallen asleep and was sprawled out on the bench.
You watched the scenery pass by as the train sped on the tracks below. The door slid open but it didn't register with you until your thoughts were interrupted by a tapping on your shoulder.
"Malfoy?" You said shocked, looking his direction. "What are you doing? I figured you would stay with your freinds."
"They started arguing, and I don't want to hear it." He said annoyed with the thought, and sat beside you. "Grabbe and Goyle are so stupid sometimes." Draco leaned back and closed his eyes. It looked like he had a headache from the look on his face. You looked back out the window.
"What about Parkinson, she's your friend too right?" You asked, looking back at Draco.
"She is, but she gets clingy. I try not to hang with her alone." He replied to your qustion without moving. He appeared to be frustrated with his freinds. They fallowed him around like Draco was a leader of a gang. He was kind of was, though. You leaded on glass window and closed your eyes, thinking about how things would go back to the way it was last year. Draco would change back soon to his typical cold selfish self. You didn't want him to be that way.
"She looks comfy." Draco said after a little while. You smiled at Sam and nodded.
"So were you able to finish the project your father had you working on?" You asked Draco, sitting up. You changed the subject because you didn't want Draco to point out how Sam was a muggle-born like you.
"Yeah, we had to find an old dairy. It was blank inside though, so I don't know why it was a secret...." Draco trailed off for a moment. You shrugged your shoulders and said nothing. "Why my father had me on the job, I'll never understand. It wasn't like he couldn't do it."
"Maybe it was to keep you away from me." You suggested, laying your head on his shoulder. You liked this Draco Malfoy. You wanted this Draco to stay threw the school year, but it was enviable, he would become the cold version of himself that you didn't like.
Draco's pov
"Maybe." Draco said, putting his arm around you and resting his head on yours. You slowly nodded off to sleep.
'She's so sweet.' He thought to himself. Draco wanted to hold you close. He knew that something was going to happen at the school this year. He wanted you to be safe because the mudbloods would be in danger. Your hair fell onto your face when you moved.
"(Y/n)?" Draco said, slowly moving your hair back behind your ear. You shiffed again.
"Um huh?" You hummed, sound alseep.
"I should get back." He said, looking down at you. 'You're so beautiful.' He thought as if he said it out loud. He slowly laid you down on the bench and left the cabin.
Your pov.
"(F/n)," Sam said shaking your shoulder. "Wake up. We're almost there." You sat up and looked around feeling drowsy.
When you got up to the school, you broke off from the rest of the students. You sat outside on the steps, wishing Draco had snuck off to. The stars were stunning in the night sky. It was a new moon, and so the only lights you could see were coming from the castle and the stars themselves. It would have been nice to share the sight with him before he started his cold attitude.
Suddenly, you saw something zooming thew the air. You squinted to see what it was. The object seemed to be crashing like a plane, but it wasn't a plane at all. It looked to be a flying car. It slammed into the womping willow tree on the grounds. The tree proceeded to attack the car back. You ran back inside and was somehow able to sneak to the Hufflepuff table and sit with your friends without them noticing. The sorting ceremony was comming to an end and soon after dinner appeared on the tables.
